Anyone have experience with code P0450 on a c43?

Its emissions related.

Cant get the car to get to RDY state on all the computers prior to the smog check.

Its left hanging on cats and it says incomplete. It keeps throwing this code after about 10 mins of driving which is when all the computers would usually get to the RDY state.

I have replaced the Charcoal canister, mot valve, and the valve that's attached to the charcoal canister.

What else could it be?

Luckily us owners outside of N. America don't have those pumps and hoses

Californian cars must be very restricted performance wise?
Must be very bad for fun driving squeezing out each and every pony of the engine, what's left of them?

Yes, that pump. It is controlled by a time out relay that goes bad, then the pump runs forever on start up, then the pump burns out. I had this fail on my early M112 ML32, which has the same system in the US as the M113. Easy install, expensive parts.
If the pump is bad, make sure the relay is replaced or it will just burn up another pump.

And you are sure its related to this check engine code?

No, not really certain. That car is thankfully long gone, but the code is ringing a bell in my aging cranium. It’s pretty easy to determine if the pump is dead or alive, cool AM start will tell you pretty quick.

Ive actually read that when doing research. I had that tube replaced and another three way tube back there as well.

dont think it was related to that unfortunately. I had the code reappear multiple times after that.

So i got a spare fuel sending unit from the passanger side and it does say Pressure Sens on it.

Im trying to figure out if that means that thebpressure sensor is inside it or that thebconnectore there leads to a sensor somewhere else

Never seen this unit in my vehicle, but looking at the pic, I imagine the sensor must be inside, but not sure. It looks like a floater attached to the unit. You say passenger side, but where does it mount to, or does it live inside the fuel tank? It does have two separate connectors so must have a dual purpose

There are two sending units like this ^^ on the bottom of the tank. You'll find small plastic covers roughly in front of the rear wheels one on each side held by three screws.

This above is the passenger side which apparently has a fuel pressure sensor built into it. Yes there are two connectors and I agree. The other side of the part has a small circuit board with two small wires going to the other connector so thats for sure the float level sensor.

This side above must be the pressure sensor, I don't know what else it could be.

The brown tube going out of it comes out to the bottom of the sending unit(see pic above right above where I circled it).

Note: these are basically inside the tank at the bottom so when pulling them out the tanks must be drained.(The metal allen wrench part can be taken out and it reveals a valve sort of drain). When you push inside the valve it'll start draining fuel.

I also read that this is just on the USA models but not sure.

Heres a pic of the other side.

This is the Right side level sender unit, only with 96-01 "U.S & S.Africa" versions,

usually this pressure sensor not damaged or not common issue, with fuel system,

so weird if it went away..!!?,,

MB part #: "202 470 30 41", then replace it in (Nov/2009) with:-

*MB #: "208 470 06 41"

*Continental/VDO #: "2218 3900 2003Z"

My car sat for five years.

When I drained the fuel, it looked like oil at the bottom. I had some separation happening.

I can see this being an issue for whatever sits at the bottom of the fuel tank.

I had to replace the fuel pump and filter.
