Another issue. On the rear passenger side lower control arm where the shock and spring sits. There is a metal lever which is adjustable. That’s attached to the lower control. Then it attaches to the body, then there is a black electric box sensor maybe. Then the wires from that box goes up into the trunk and wires then go under the fuse box back there. What is this lever for?
I think it’s the sensor that trigger the alarm when car is lifted? Or some kind of traction control lever?
mine is so rusted that it popped out as I was replacing the sling back there. There is only one lever and module back there passenger side. See pics in red circle. Thanks for any help.
Found out what this is. The lever and sensor is to level the xenon front lights. There is also one in the front upper control arm. My 98 c43 has xenon, but my 99 does not. So there is no lever or sensor on the non xenon car. That’s how I found out…. Hope it helps someone else that runs into this….
My 99' had xenons and I remember clearly the lever on the passenger side in the front, but don't recall a similar lever at the rear. Perhaps during all these years I never noticed it, but then I didn't spend my time underneath the chassis
