When I asked my dealer about that, they send me an answer from the mechs dept. talking about the differences (mainly 7Gvs.9G) between both C450 and C43 models, which didn't convinced me at all, I'm not an expert, but I can see an excuse from miles away; they just don't have a clue. I'm being a good boy with my running in, so I can't tell about the sounds over those 4500rpm's, but when I've approached that edge, I can ear some, very subtile, reminders to that metallic popop, but nothing like the C450 I tested.
It's known that some MB guys are MBWorld forum members, so it would be wonderful if any could bring us some light (or pops or crackles) here.

I have, and I can confirm the lack of the pops and crackling. I was truly disappointed because the loaner I had for some days (it was a C450 though) had that beautiful exhaust sounds all around.

Hope there is just something wrong or that it will start cracking with a few more miles on the clock.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for that to be true, but i'm more inclined to think that it may be a software issue, a determined position of the exhaust valves that the C43 is not achieving for some reason, or maybe they've found that if the standard sound is as "good" as it was in the C450, the sales of an sports exhaust option could be not as attractive as it is now, with the quieter regular exhaust

Also, the crackles and pops were very pronounced in the early stages of the car. I would say the crackles and pops do diminish and become more unpredictable and less pronounced after 2-3000miles. Which was the reason why I upgraded to the AWE Tuning Touring dual exhausts.

She's been fully de-badged and we're having the roof vinyl wrapped next week gloss black to complete the line across the top of the car.
Also fitted some front arch guards in satin black and a new Blackvue DR650S 2CH camera system.
These are the arch guards, the website shows they are for the A, B and CLA class, but they also fit the new C class perfectly as well.

Great to drive, so much more refined than our previous E89 Z4, getting used to driving position as our Z4 was lowered on Eibachs.
Still running her in, so not using the full potential yet, but played a little with the different driving modes
She's been fully de-badged and we're having the roof vinyl wrapped next week gloss black to complete the line across the top of the car.
Also fitted some front arch guards in satin black and a new Blackvue DR650S 2CH camera system.

Where did you hear that? Last communication I got from my SA was that it had passed certification and was on a train from Halifax to Edmonton with a dealer ETA of Oct 16th... this was on Sept 27th.

No trimming required, 5 mins to fit, just pop out the bottom two mushroom clips on the internal arch cover and fit the side of the guard with the attached 3M tape to the edge of the arch and pop the mushroom clips back in again.

Also, the HUD and intelligent LEDs are great, have set the HUD to AMG mode with the new curved RPM indicator with speed and gear shown, don't think I could own a car without this now.

This doesn't make sense, they've already updated the fuel economy for the c43 coupes on MB Canada. While they were awaiting certification, the fuel economy was stated as "tbd".

That's great! The big question is if it will be held at the VPC or not after it docks pending EPA certification. Either way should be part of the first wave of deliveries hopefully!

Seeing as we're getting closer to deliveries, anyone planning to use Xpel or a coating (or both?)
I am currently debating doing Xpel but almost set on doing a Modesta coating. Doing both is kind of expensive and comes out to be 10% price of the car so not sure if its worth it really.

Just a quick comment, I know I'm going to get flamed for saying it, but here goes.
when you get the car, new I would NOT "Drive it like I stole it"
I know that sounds fun and cool, but what is the downside to waiting 1000 miles, varying the rpm, not BANGING on the car when it hasn't been broken in, seated, etc..
The manual says, don't exceed xyz, S+, high RPM, high MPH.
Years ago, I asked the engineers and product managers what the deal was and they said, "break her in nicely and she'll provide years of joy and trouble free service"
It sounds more interesting in the original German.
(disclaimer.. I worked for DB for seven years in the 90's and drove everything they had hard and fast)
