New C43

The major fault in this plan is that 19" wheels aren't great for winter, according to conventional wisdom.
Here in Central Ohio I only get 5-8 bad snows a year, if that (and most of those aren't really "bad")...so I'm kind of torn. I absolute hate the stock 18" wheels that come on the C43 too, otherwise I'd just order them and keep them as my winter beaters.

I'm more worried about ice then snow, if it's really deep I'll be taking my truck(also with winter tires) instead of the car. So I'm not too worried about the 19". But Ya makes it a little trickier of a choice if this will be your only vehicle option. Is there really that much of a difference from 18's to the 19's in winter performance?

What is your build like? I was contemplating getting mine wrapped, but if it's gonna cost anywhere north of 2k, I'll probably hold off. Also, I'm SERIOUSLY considering order a Euro spec bumper so I don't have to live with those hideous bumper guards. I'm gonna talk to my sales guy and see if that's possible.

Otherwise, I'd have a 63 and a SUV for the winter.

Build is basically a full load, only thing I didn't get is the AMG performance seats (wanted ventilated seats) and the carbon fiber package. Also got them to switch out what I feel are the tacky red seat belts to a normal black.
Ya those bumper bumps are pretty bad... I'm really hoping they aren't as bad as they seem in the pictures but have also heard it isn't so easy to just take them off or switch bumpers. But keep us posted if you find a way... and the cost lol

It is most certainly in Canadian dollars... With the conversion we do come in cheaper, but you guys down south generally have more wiggle room when dealing, you don't see anyone up here getting the 10-15% off msrp generally. So might still come close in the end.

The amg logo/badge for grill is not available yet in the USA. He said he can order it from europe but since the car will be out here, he said just wait a bit and it should be able to ordered soon.

The sales guy at my dealer claims he has a c43 coupe coming in next week. After reading everything here I almost don't believe him. It's not the color or wheels I want (it has 18"s) but I'm tempted to jump on it if I'd be that far ahead of the game.

Hart, don't fret mate. At least you got it built the way you wanted to. There's no point in getting upset now (although perhaps a little more clarity from your dealer wouldn't have been a bad idea).

Wow, if C43 coupes are going to show up next week, mbusa.com is way behind schedule. The 450s were in dealership's online inventories during transit from the VPC to the dealer. Meaning, you could search for them on mbusa.com prior to them showing up at the dealership (regardless of the build type: custom or dealer). The C43 coupe isn't even recognized as a model type yet (it's still in futures).

Convinced MB only has mbusa web site because "everyone else does". MB tech leverage is minimal and appears to be more of an afterthought with a focus on doing the minimum necessary to claim some functionality.

I would say in this case that the dealer is wrong. The order guide shows Fall 2016 (and Late Summer 2016 for both the C63 and C63S). The C63/C63S is in the US configurator but there is no inventory. I bet the dealer is confusing an inbound 63 with a 43.

US Site is horrible. I always use the CA site when playing with configurations to see the overall look. I think they could do a better job.

Dealer says that the US configurator will be up around September 1 for C43 sedan. Meanwhile, my already built C43 sedan continues to sit at VPC with no ship date scheduled since the sedan has still not been federally certified to ship.

Understandable that the Feds are taking a long time to certify. After all, everything changed from the 450 to the 43
