unless you can business expense it, these types of cars should be bought unless you could give a **** about money.

I must have mis read. i thought you had 7k down and 10k in MSD.
either way at the end of that lease you will have spent 28k. thats half of the car. i dont understand why people just dont buy them.. if you need to have a brand new car all the time, its your money. but you are paying for it.

the residual is 60% which is taken off the MSRP.
so youll be paying $37,200 plus any taxes or fees to buy out of lease.
on top of the 37,200 to buy out of lease youll have spend 7k down plus 589*36 months which is $28204.
Plus 3k tied up in MSD for 3 years.
so if you choose to buy the car out of the lease it would cost you 3k held up in MSD for 3 year in stead of earning 7%+ in a safe fund annually ($675 potential earnings) . and then $28204+$37200 =$65404
So if you choose to buy out of lease the total cost would be $66,079. vs if you just bought it straight up you would have it for your $58,128. I think you could negotaite harder to get 7% off. make it 57660. Either way buying out of the lease costs you $7951 more than if you were to buy it straight up.
Lets say you dont have all the cash now, I know i didnt want to fork over all the cash at once for mine. interest rates are stupid low right now. i got 1.49% from my local credit union. granted you need good credit but id hope if you are considering this level of car your ducks are in order. at 1.99% if you pay 10k down youll pay $2500 in interest to finance the car. Mercedes finance may even offer a better rate. This still puts you $5451 ahead over leasing and the biggest thing! You own the car. That means you can sell it and get some of your money back. Being a new car you are still taking a huge hit for depreciation (which is why I bought mine CPO with 1200 miles, new car, miss the depreciation hit). so any way you slice it, this is a lifestyle not a need. any ways, the dealer wants you to lease, they sell the car make their money and they get the car back to sell it after you just paid for all of their depreciation losses. I know when i bought mine they were saying the rates were too good not to lease.
The only reason IMO to lease is if you can make it a total business write off, which is hard to do unless its only used for work which i would guess it wont be only used for work.
hopefully this helps in your decision

To me it seems like quite good of a deal. You can maybe negotiate a bit down the price from the mrsp. I managed to get down 10% + fleet incentive, coming to an overall 13% discount over the MRSP. I also used MSD's to lower the payment.
Using MSD's (5k) saved me around 2k in the overall payment across 3 years. I find it a pretty good use of extra cash that you may have.
If one likes to change cars often, leasing is going to be much better. If you buy the car new and sell it after three years, it will definitely be worse than leasing it because you lose some money in the sale process. If you drive it for more than 5-7 years, definitely better to buy.
Business owners can expense lease payments. I've bought used cars, leased new cars, etc. and it all comes to how long you keep them for. Financially speaking, buying a 2-3 year used car and keeping it for around 5-7 years it's going to be the most sound decision (or even longer if there won't be too many mechanical issues), but when we're looking at these cars it's not always a logical decision but an emotional one and perhaps you want the newest gadget, or newest trim etc.
Also, buying a 3 year old used car and selling it after 3 years will have just some advantage over leasing a new car fro 3 years. Also, the price written down on the contract as residual is not always the buy out price. You can often negotiate.
Anyhow, to the original question, I think it's a decent deal. I find that getting the total $ spent to the level of around 1/3 of the MRSP is quite ok.

Hi all, new to the forum. 1st post! Anyway, I work for Daimler so don't be jealous of my deal:
No cash down $502 per month (plus tax). No return fees. Two options on the lease: 12 month / 15,000 miles walk away OR 8,000 miles return it for another lease (another c43 if I want and they are available). They don't care how fast you put the 8,000 miles on the car so it's possible to have a new one in the garage every few months.
Pulling the trigger tomorrow hope they are still available. This particular c43 is msrp $63,400. I can't remember which pkg but I remember it has the exhaust. Details are on my work computer and I don't have access from home.
I can also choose other models from cla 250 (much lower payment obviously) to S class. Availability varies. 3 vehicles at any one time. Perks of the job.

You need to give us more info on how much is the selling price and MF/RV given by the dealer. What is the actual MF/RV for C43 for Jan 2018. You can get the actual RV/MF from Edmunds forums.

omg, finally i saw someone who financed the vehicle instead of leasing it...like me
Dang! I wish I'd stumbled upon this forum before I bought my C43 on 01/03/2017. Below are the details of my deal.
C43 Sedan
Exterior: Polar white
Interior: Black leather with red stitch
Packages: Night package, Premium 2 package, Exterior carbon fiber package, 19 inch wheels with black accents (Run flats), AMG performance exhaust system, Interior LED accent lighting, Panaromic roof
MSRP: $62,295 incl. dest
Sale Price: $54,900
I just went to the dealer to test drive and ended up buying it. I fell in love with it instantly so couldn't resist. I wanted to lease it but the dealer quoted some really high numbers on the lease. It was an impulse buy so I wasn't prepared on stuff like money factor etc. but I knew the numbers were insane just by looking at the monthly payment. So, I ended up financing it at 2.99/72 months. My monthly payment is $848/month incl. everything ( Taxes, title and fees rolled into the loan ) with a $4K down payment. The lease numbers were almost the same which is insane. If I had done my research and was prepared on the money factor I probably would've got a good lease deal. Alas, there is nothing I can do now. I am planning to refinance with my bank though as I am pre-approved for a rate of 1.74/72 months.
I have a couple of questions though:
1) Is the MB prepaid maintenance worth it? The dealer is quoting $1675 for it. It is listed for $1475 on MB USA but the dealer says every dealer has a mark up based on the area.
2) Extended warranty of 2 yrs/ 25000 miles over factory warranty. The dealer is quoting $3600 (Negotiated from $5000) on it. Is it worth it? I am a first time MB owner so have no clue about the reliability of the cars and the benefit of purchasing an extended warranty. Any help is appreciated!

For the 2018 sedan,
What do you guys think about a lock in of .0004 over base money factor which right now would be .00175 (base is .00135), and 10% discount on sale price. It is a custom order MSRP around $62k.
Residual is 58% for 15k miles per year/36 months.
Seems to me they claw back some discount with the money factor but overall deal is fair, if not great. I don’t see how they can give you base money factor and chop 10% or more off the price and make any money. I got the strong impression this deal was pushing the limits.
