2017 C43 results are in!
Hello MB World,
I'm a new member and just took delivery of a 2017 C43 Sedan. I've done a bunch of research on this site for reviews and tuning options so I'm glad to finally be a member and I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you guys!
Car and Driver just posted results from their instrument testing and I'm impressed! The car is much quicker than I expected, here's the link:
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...an-test-review
0-60 in 4.1 and 1/4 mile in 12.7 @ 110
A lot of people say the C450 is the same as the C43 but that is definitely not true as I've never seen a stock C450 do better than 4.5 0-60 from any reliable source. The new 9 speed transmission and the other changes must make a huge difference. I knew the C43 would be quicker than the C450 but I was surprised that it beat it by so much. For reference, here is a link for the C450 test results:

Please let me know your thoughts...

Here is a bit better of a result for the c450. Gearing makes up for a few tenths, this is true.

If only it had a DSG with launch control.
Launch control would be really nice. Do you notice in manual mode it seems like 1st gear fuel cutoff is way before redline? I just got my car a couple weeks ago so I'm still trying to find the best launching technique.

Really isn't that much difference between the cars besides the optional performance exhaust and the much better transmission.
The car definitely needs launch control though.

Did they post a time slip? I would love to see that. 11s is moving for this platform for sure. I would also be curious to see what their mods were. I guarantee it is more than stage 1 which was the only modification that AMR customer car had (also consider the fact that it was his first time at the track). Last I checked Eurocharged went 12.3 before putting nitrous on the car.

A company puts down gains, proves it with videos at the track as well as numerous customers putting down the same track times including one guy on instagram going 11.9 but something seems fishy?

Guys please view the link below. No nitrous used. Tune only! Best in the market if you ask me since they have time slips to show from customers.
https://mbworld.org/forums/c450-c43-...ttached-4.html
Granted not all customers have the ability to go to the track with other companies tunes... but yea you get the idea.

Thats a great time but that was after putting nitrous on the car. Not to mention absolutely no videos of this being done.
This comment definitely has me laughing

I'm not advocating for eurocharged either.
The only comparison I give a company validity for is hitting the 1/4 stock. Tuning - hitting it again the same day (if not similar conditioned day) and showing the numbers.
Dynos show how a specific car increased it's power. You cannot compare it to another dyno or other cars unless they used the exact same dyno.
Anyways, AMR should be putting down better numbers with their claimed figures, IMO. It's still an impressive gain - I just think their claimed improvements might be a bit idealized.

Is anyone using 91 octane with their tune? I live in CA and can only get 91. I'm curious if it's worth it to do the ECU stage 1 tune with only 91 octane.

I was gonna go eurocharged until I realized AMR is better and is proven and tested longer..AMR is also faster.. in cool weather AMR tune is in 11s.. all the 12.2-12.3 runs have been in 90+ deg weather...

Exactly! That was the same thought process I had before selecting my tune. I am sure Eurocharged has a quality product, but the AMR tune is just more in depth. I can't wait to see what they do this year with our platform and hopefully they get back to the track before it stays 90+ out lol

None of those slips show an 11.8 as well as they show different dates, times, etc.... not to mention no video of these passes whatsoever. I would rather see a company post a video with a slip then just a random slip with no other proof
Also if you read on in that link you posted, I would agree with this guy who commented on that same post, as he is 100% right, see below comment:

And for the power ill stick with Eurocharge, once again nothing against AMR customers and their tune or OE. I guess personal preference. But if we are talking factual track numbers, Eurocharge has got it.
