The 48 in the rear looks a lot closer to stock with 8.7mm closer to the suspension strut. I am guessing that's not an issue because there's no huge caliper/control arm to clear like in the front?

Thanks!
et42 - 12 = 30 - effective offset is et30. 19x8.5et30 is aggressive on stock suspension but will 100% clear inner.

rear can fit up to 10.5 w/ a 305 but that wouldn't make sense from a practical driving experience because the car exhibits understeer and needs more front tire not more rear to make it more neutral in the corners (and it simply doesn't put enough power down to justify anything over a 275 if not upgrading turbos (with a proper UHP tire)).

I forgot if anyone has asked this before, but has anyone used a 245 front successfully before?

i ran a 245 - the main problem here is getting the aspect ratio correct for the diameter. you either have to downsize or upsize and neither is in an ideal range.

gotta step up to a 255 - only one user is doing this within the fenders correctly

After doing some calculations on tire diameters and the lust to get wider tires without risking the 4matic f/r ratio. I decided to switch to 19x8.5 +30 offset front, and 19x10 +55 rear. Matched it with 255/35 and 295/30 Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, respectively. I knew the diameter would fit since my 20’s were taller. I’m still on H&R springs and as usual the concern was the suspension up front and the wheel well in the rear.
When I first saw the tires for the rear, I really thought there was no way it would fit in the back. Even the guys in the shop were crossing their fingers, hahaha!

So, to those who dare to drive with these tolerances, I’ll be attaching pics and how the car looks. I do have very slight rubbing on “C” mode on dips, but who ever drives on “C”, anyways, hahaha! Sport+ is preferred mode but still slight rubbing on big dips, and only the fender liners. Nothing touches the chassis and paint. I can say, the tire widths outweighs the slight rubbing.... very negligible.

Wheels: VSForged VS-06, forged monoblock, brushed aluminum.

Fender gap front,

Fender gap rear,

Fender clearance: front,

Rear,

Now to the gnarly part...

suspension clearance: right front,

Left front,

Rear inner fender clearance,

I’m very happy with the results!

I know it’s not for everyone, but I hope this helps anyone willing to go this route...

Thanks to everyone who posted their specs and pics on this thread. I know it helped me a whole lot!

But I am also able to get a 10mm spacer for the front, making it et42-10 = et32 which is very close to the stock et33. Wouldn't that be the closest fit? Or did you recommend the 12mm because of the 8.5" rim?

I recommended a 12mm because it's the only size that fits over the OEM hub in a traditional spacer design (OP has more info in this thread more specific to the issues fitting a 10mm spacer).

That makes sense. Thanks a lot. I'll post some pics once I get everything on the car. You've been a huge help. Thanks for being patient.

Front

With stock tire size , what would I need to make them fit if I go with this set up? Thank you!

I don’t think that rear is going to fit.

If I were to lower my car on H&R sports springs using the 19" OEM AMG wheels , what size of spacers would you recommend to use to have a flush stance? Thank you!

12/15 or even 12/20 will be good

use 15mm up front at your own risk

Many thanks to this thread and especially to alexasa and NYCSoil for their fitment help. Finally, put on new wheels/tires yesterday and I am very happy with how everything turned out. Niche M204 19" wheels 19x8.5 +42 front, 19x9.5 +48 rear. Tires are Michelin AS3+ 225/40/19 front and 265/35/19 rear. Supreme Power 12mm spacer in the front and none in the rear. The rears are just a tiny bit more tucked in than the fronts, but I don't think that I'll bother with a spacer. Haven't had too much time to hoon, but so far I can say that I love the look and there's no rubbing at all when turning and the new tires are night/day difference from the awful Contisport5s.

Just got these forged AMG reps fitted. 20x8 ET30 and 20x9 ET42 on 235/35 and 265/30. The wheels weigh 26.5lbs and 28.5lbs respectively.

Interestingly, the ride is more comfortable than the stock 19” wheels and non-run-flats. I attribute this to the increase in overall diameter.

I'm considering the following wheel & tire combo for my C450:

BBS SX
Front: 18x8 et35 225/45ZR18
Rear: 18x8 et35 245/40ZR18

Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3+. I'm at stock height. Tire rack says the wheels come with 4 Required centering ring , 4 Required centering ring clip. Tire rack says guaranteed fitment and hub rings are from BBS. Anyone see any issues with this fitment? Total price shipped for the package is around $2k on tirerack. I'm hesitant to go up to 19" wheels due to lower ride quality and all the issues I've had with my stock AMG 5 spoke 18" wheels, albeit, most likely caused by the run flats. I'm looking at aftermarket wheels due to the wheel issues and I currently have one cracked (repaired) wheel and probably at least 1-2 bent wheels. I know BBS has a pretty good reputation, but are the wheels any stronger or less prone to bends and cracks then the stock AMG wheels? I don't want to fork out the several thousands of dollars for fully forged wheels either.

TIA - Bill

set-up doesn't really make sense. gonna be goofy with that really square tire out rear and slight stretch on the front. et35 will also be way too close to front inner suspension to recommend. i slightly rubbed w/ at et30 w/ a slightly wider tire

no reason not to go with a square set-up at that pace.

run 245 40 around square. that off set it should work. plus the tire stretch will be even then.

what square set up would you recommend? Are there any disadvantages? One obvious advantage is being able to rotate the tires.

You think an 8" wheel with 245 and +35 offset will clear in the front?

thanks, Bill

it won't clear - need to go more aggressive or less tire

it will be close.

i ran et 33 with a thick 235. about 6mm of clearance.

he may need a 2mm spacer to clear.

235/40/19 would be a better square setup probably if thats what he would want but you would be burning the rears for days.
