Buy a reputable name and preferably Flow formed/rotary forged wheels. If your country allows the use of spacers, don't be afraid to use them.

I would not buy either of those brands as I have never heard of them. I would not be surprised if they weigh upwards of 30 lbs/ea for the appropriate size for this car.

The Axe brand definitely flow forge/ rotary forge. There are some reviews I have since seen although I can't find the weights.
I will soon be back from holiday and able to call some suppliers for additional information.

19x9 et44, 265 35r19 this is definitely better for stock suspension. almost identical to what I ran for a short time on my old red car

Note the bold, do not upsize the profile of the rear - you would be severely out of spec.

Hi all,

I was planning on getting new wheels for the winter. But there are obviously limited options for 18 inch wheels.

The wheel dealer suggested for me to get all four wheels 8J and ET30 (R18).

But from the Mercedes dealership I was told that for the rear, there can be 2 options:

7.5J ET44 and 8.5J ET49.

Will 8J ET30 in rear cause any problems??

I'm definitely not an expert but having read this page carefully I would say a 8 et30 on the rear of a c43 would fit but look very odd against the arches as it would sit quite sunken in. It would be almost 2cm further in than your original wheels

Finally on

My wheels have finally arrived and are on.
19x8 et30 235 40r19 front
19x9 et44 264 35r19 rear.
They are mille Miglia 1015 in gloss black other colours available. They are not the lightest wheels at almost 20kg 44lbs (heavier thant the oem AMG 19) but they are wrapped in Michelin ps4 and the total cost was under £2k so I kinda budgeted the rims although they look awesome to me much more aggressive, the tyre Change from p0 run flats is amazing.
Not lowered yet I have H&R spings ready to go.

Thanks to everyone on here who continue to share there findings and help people make informed decisions.

C43 AMG Cabrio 4MATIC
Question Help! Tire Rims and tires for winter - dealer is no help

Hi Everyone. I am totally new to this forum, and have to say I bought my 2018 C43 Cabrio 4MATIC with my heart, not my head. I didn't do research on the tire situation. Just loved the power under the hood! I live near Philadelphia in PA, and we do get snow and ice around here. I just bought this car as a CPO in May from Wisconsin. I am looking to get new rims for the winter, I don't want to ruin the AMG 19s I have on now. My wheel code is 605 - luckily the selling dealer gave me the build sheet. So now my dilemma. I asked my local dealer to give me a price on new rims, cheapest possible (don't care about the look for winter) and winter or all seasons. The response I got was there are no options for new rims, and then $355 per tire for Pirelli winter run flat and $1700 for all season Bridgestone. They service writer was pathetic to say the least. Couldn't even tell me what folks do around here for winter on this car, which there are plenty of. I have of course searched on TireRack which I can build a decent priced package for the winter. The rims are two different sizes from factory, front are 225/40R19 on 7.5 Jx 19H ET33 and backs are 255/35R19 on 8.5J x 19H ET 52. So I of course have no idea what that means. My question is as follows: 1) can I buy 19 inch x 8 rims for all four wheels and then put applicable tire on them? I get the wheel caliper thing, but since I can't get help from the dealer about fitment, I am reaching out to you all!!!

Thank you so much for your help! I have been driving with summer performance Pirelli tires now and understand that is not a good thing

Hey BCM, if you're interested, I have a new set of wheels for $1000, new in the box never mounted. 19x8.5 fronts and 19x9.5 rears but they are bronze if that matters.

Thanks paj. Will these clear the calipers? I am hoping not to use spacers or longer bolts.

Here’s the offset

32 on the front and 45 on the rears. The wheels I just put on were a 35 offset and I needed a 5 mm spacer. So I’m guessing you may only need a 2 mm spacer which is really small.

Tire Fitment in the front

I have a facelift sedan currently running Rohana rfx10 19x8.5 front et 33 (et 30 with 3mm spacer) and I have the stock run flats mounted. Wanted to see if a 235 could fit in the front on this set up. Could I go for a ps4s 225 in the front maybe? Since they around a size bigger.

Hey I have RFX 11's 8.5 fronts/9.5 rears. I'm running 225 40 front and 255 35 rears. Now my offset was 35 with a 5mm spacer. Fits perfectly.

ET 30 is perfect for the 8.5 in the front. I’m just wondering if I can fit a 235 tire on the front

Yes, you should be fine with 235 in the front with those specs.

Your offset at +48 will only stick out 7mm more than mine at +55, you should still clear the outer fender. With height adjustable springs and negative camber you’ll be ok.
The only thing I really didn’t like about being on 20’s was it slowed down my acceleration from a standstill.
By a significant difference? I probably won't track my car, but didn't want to sacrifice too much performance. I just ordered custom Vossens for my coupe because when I followed someone's advice with the sedan C43 and wheel spacers I did not get a flush look on my OEM 19's. I currently have 12mm H&R spacers and 15mm in the rear on H&R VTF springs. I feel I should have gone 15mm front and 20mm rear.

Personally, I think 19s look small on the coupe and even lowered with the spacers. So I ordered 20x8.5 30mm 20x10 48mm Vossen HF-5s. The manufacturer didn't recommend anything lower then 48 and I didn't want to take the chances so hopefully it turns out alright.

Was the ride horrible on 20s and did you keep running run flat tires? I had Michelin PS4S on my Audi S3 and those were amazing. Thinking of doing the same on this set up 235/35/20 front and 275/30/20 rear..

^ Your setup sounds perfect.

FWIW, I have 20x8.5 +30 front and 20x10 +50 rear Vossen HF3s with 235/35/20 and 275/30/20 PS4S tires. I ended up putting a 5mm spacer on the rear to push it out to +45 to be a bit more flush. Perfect now IMO. Lowered on H&R springs.

On the 275/30 20 the difference wasn’t noticeable. It was when I switched to 285/30 20 that I felt the acceleration from a standstill changed. If your car has a tune, it probably won’t be a problem.

I agree, I think this car looks better on 20’s. The ride wasn’t horrible at all but, that could be subjective. However, I find it rides better on 19’s, and I wouldn’t be surprised if performance is better on 19’s as well.

Either way, getting rid of the runflats was the best way to improve ride and performance on this car. I had Continental dws 06 on 20’s and Michelin Ps4s now on my 19’s. You can’t go wrong with the Ps4s. For as long as you have a tire repair kit, portable tire inflator and roadside assistance, you’ll be ok. Besides, I’ve hit a lot of potholes on both 20’s and 19’s set ups... they were really hard hits too! No blowouts, no bent rims, nothing!

Good luck with your setup!

Nice ride man. Love those wheels
Ironically I almost purchased the HF-3s
It was between Vertini rfs1.3 and Vossen HF-3s in 19" then I came across the HF-5s and liked the concave look. He got me a deal for $2,600 custom satin black 20's and I immediately placed the order. Can't wait to see these on my car. Going to get my calipers painted.as well.
