C450/C43 Wheel Fitment Guide

18 inch wheel replacement
One person's story, or the answer to "I don't want 20 inch wheels, I just want to replace the overpriced and flimsy Benz wheels...."
I bought the car with 18 inch wheels, because I live in a pothole prone area. The car is a DD...that last .01 g in a corner isn't really important. I wanted to replace my standard wheels with standard tires, with the same size..... I fell into the rabbit hole.
Read this entire thread-most folks modding were looking for the most possible. While not my use case, it was very instructional, and a few of you guys are brave, to say the least. I have a set of stock sized Michelin AS-4 to mount, not 245/35 on 20's.....
Checked tire rack, who oddly recommends ET30 front AND rear for C43.....but for the AMG sport C300, ET45 front and rear ? (different hubs ?)
Checked the euro wheel providers fitment websites, who recommended ET 30 front and ET 45 or 50 rear.
Read Benz, who spec-ed for this car in 2019 OE
44/49, the wheels on the car now...
36/52
33/40
33/49
My brain hurt.
The next problem was which wheel ? I didn't want spacers, but I did want TUV approval and something tough.
After staring at wheels long enough I ended up with BBS SR in Himalaya Grey. $290 each means that the pothole you miss is no longer a $1k day. Wheels are like jewelry or fine watches...I didn't need a Rolex for this and I was trying to get RID of overpriced wheels. That pothole is out there....and will be full of water....and in a shadow......
After too much time staring at the very helpful tire and wheel pages, I decided that the euros were probably right plus based on what Benz sold the car with, 30/45 would work. I called Tire Rack, who told me I was wrong (Customer Responsible for Fitment) but shipped promptly as usual. A set of BBS SR showed up two days later.
Took it to my tire guy, The Wheel Doctor in Yonkers, NY. I cannot recommend them highly enough, have used them many years. Mounted up without incident, so now
8 x 18 ET30 with 225/45
8x 18 ET 45 with 245/40
No clearance issues.
The wheels ended up about the same. I can't see any difference at the rear (49 v 45), and maybe a slight poke out at the front...very slight. Very pleased with the look.
Finally, when the Michelins wore out, I replaced them with DWS 06, but this time I went square-235/45. This picked me up a bit of sidewall, which in my world of horrible roads (try going from I 287 to I 87, or from I 87 to Saw Mill Parkway) is always good. This size is the ideal for an 8 inch rim, and I'm very pleased. Still can't rotate them due to offsets but I don't have to fear that hole you are bound to miss and hit.

Newbie
Hey everyone, I read this thread closely over the last week and unfortunately my notepad crashed w/o saving.
I'm hoping I can get some help with my C450 and some possible suggestions, glad to hear the ride quality issues comes from the run flats.
I just ordered a set of the H&R lowering springs (28811-2) and was planning on going with either of these wheel selections (Rotiform BLQ) (Verde Empire) (Vossen CV10) or (Mandrus 23)
I've seen mixed reviews on the Mandrus wheels, but I like the "oem" look that they have, kind of in between those and the Empires.
I don't mind buying spacers, but would rather avoid having to add them to the setup (along with bolts and costs).
I'm looking for help selecting the right tires too, I keep seeing the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4, was leaning towards those or Toyo Proxes.
Thanks yal!
Rotiform Specs:
Front 19x8.5 35mm Rear 19x8.5 36mm or 45mm
Verde Specs:
Front 19x8.5 30mm Rear 19x9.5 36mm
Vossen Specs:
Front 19x8.5 30mm Rear 19x9.5 45mm
Mandrus Specs:

Alexasa, I'm running the exact same setup with Rohana RFX 10's. What do you mean by step down a tire size? What tire specs should this set up run?

I’ve got the same Enkei Raijin wheels (19x8 front, 19x8.5 rear) in matte black and would love to find custom center caps like yours - could you tell me where you found yours? Or what size center cap I should be looking for? I’m a newbie when it comes to this hobby so any help is definitely appreciated!

Hello folks, I own a 2017 c43 and purchased directly from Vossen a set of custom finished CVTs for my previous w204 and would like to see if they’ll fit my w205.
My wheel specs: Vossen CVT 19” — 19x8.5 +45 Front | 19x10 +55 Back
In a Facebook group I’m in A couple folks said back wheels should fit as-is and that I’ll need a 15mm Spacer for the front.
Any thoughts?

So based on your experience would you lean towards 5mm for the rear or 12.5mm with rear wheels sized at: 19x10 +55?
Thanks for your help.

Back again, I’m selling my Vossen CVTs because I’ve decided not to run spacers, mainly because no speed shops in my area are willing to install them.
Ordering a set of Vossen VFS-10s here’s the fitment:
20x8.5 +40 Front
20x9.5 +40 Rear
For the fitment gurus, will that be a good setup for my 2017 C43?
*Shop I was trying to order from said 10mm spacers needed for that setup, so I guess I’m not buying them. :0(

Yeah, I think I got my head wrapped around the concept of the correct fitment now
The problem with those wheels is that are they’re discontinued, so they are near impossible to find.
I’m considering another wheel after exhausting contacting a myriad of retailers.
I believe the Golden fitment I’m looking for is: 20x9 +30et, 20x10 +45et or 19x8.5 +30et, 19x9.5 +45et
