Hi guys,

What tire pressure are you running in all four?

How often do you rotate your tires?

Thanks,

Sliq

I thought I just read on here (last week) that the C43 is not a square setup. Someone discovered the front tires are slightly larger then the rears so you may not be able to rotate!

You can rotate left to right (unless directional tires), just not back to front. And yes it is a staggered set up.

Question: What if someone did rotate front to back with this setup, would it just introduce more understeer or something else?

How often do you rotate your tires? Since the tires are staggered, you can't rotate them like on normal car (front to rear), you can probably rotate them side to side. Follow the tire manufacturer recommended rotational schedule, I think it's required for them to honor the warranty.

Thanks,

Sliq

I have the dws06 in 245/30 20-F and 275/30 20-R, C43 (sedan).

PSI (cold) F: 38psi, R: 36psi

'haven't flipped L-R/R-L yet. I only have close to 4k mi. So far, its the best psi combination I've tried, in the state I'm in (CA), the driving conditions and habits I have.

'Hope this helps. Good luck!

Staggered setup is typically rear larger, front skinnier ..This is used on HiPo RWD cars and also AWD cars with rearward power bias.

Good rule of thumb.. start with the Manufacturers recommended pressure ( typically found in the drivers door jam) Look for about a 10% increase between a cold and a warmed up tire , so a cold TP of 38psi should be about 41psi when at normal operating temp. It's also not uncommon to see the front tires warm up a pound higher since the motor is in front.

Also remember tires add or lose 1psi for every 10 degree in out side temperature change. So your tires can be several pounds off as fall and winter moves in.

Bump, has anyone rotated these tires? Are we allowed to do so, that is a side to side rotation and not a normal front to back (for obvious reasons).

It's an asymmetrical tread pattern, so they can be rotated side to side.

Manufacturer calls for 39 psi all around as specified in the driver side door jam, I see no reason to deviate from that. I am running the afformentioned Continental DWS 06 tires and have had no problems at 39 psi cold. I have the optional 19" AMG rims. It is not recommended to rotate the tires, they are staggard and are not interchangeable front to rear. Also i was told by the tire shop tech, that the fronts will wear out 2x faster than the rears- seems to be the case, in my experience.

Not to sound impolite here but If you open your car door, the information you request will be 14 inches from your noggin.

And can rotate left left to right, not front to back.

if your car is aligned properly, rotating your tires will do nothing here.

You're not being impolite. I am not on OEM tires. I am on aftermarket tires. What is on the door sticker I imagine is only valid for OEM tires.

Unfortunately, your imagination fails you. Different tires are OEM spec'd regionally & globally and the stickers remain the same. It has more to do with the curb weight of the vehicle and wheel size spec, in addition to environmental factors, as tires are mostly manufactured to certain standards of performance, i.e. tread wear, load, speed, etc. Though there are infinite environmental factors, the door jamb sticker is the best guideline. Furthermore, you could always do a chalk test to find the "perfect" PSI for you and your car.

Sir, what is this "Chalk Test" you speak of?

The old-school low-tech chalk test! You run a line of normal stick chalk the width of your tire tread then drive ahead 50-100ft, then reverse 50-100ft. Based on how the chalk wears determines if you're over (no wear on the edges) or under (less wear in the center) inflated. Repeat while adjusting PSI up or down until you get a uniform wear on the chalk.

Ridiculous video, but accurate explanation and depiction.
