MSRP $67K, residual (36/10K) is $37K, and he's quoting payments at $849/mo with $4K due at signing. If I'm doing the math correct, that's a money factor around .00139, which correlates to 3.3% interest. All seems within the realm of what one would expect I think.

I ordered one also and will lease due to tax reasons. I'd rather have the C63 just for fun of it, but my dealer told me the money factor is about double on a C63 vs C43 - can anyone confirm that is correct. The added interest (even with the tax deduction) is something I'm not going to do.

i haven’t ever thought of leasing as a tax advantage. In the US? Does that imply it’s a business expense?

Yes, leased through my company. But do you know if the money factor is essentially double on the C63?

I don't have any independent knowledge on that, but I think you might be able to get that info from this guy on the edmunds forum: https://forums.edmunds.com/discussio...omment_5589686

Regardless of amortization schedule of the loan, the payoff amount at any given time can't be any more than the total of the remaining payments, right? In order to owe more than the vehicle is worth on a 60 month loan, it would have to be depreciating more than 20% per year. That seems a little extreme even for a Mercedes doesn't it? A depreciating asset for sure, but one that depreciates at a relatively predictable pace.
Sorry all to continue to sidetrack.

Jason - you're right, it's tough to comprehend getting upside down, but it happens all the time. Likely not so much for the people buying Benz's, but it still happens. I eluded in one of my previous posts dealers out to simply make the sale at whatever cost...less than responsible lending practices just to move inventory. Say Joe-Bob comes in an wants a brand new Chevy Malibu. Instead of shopping on the overall best price for the purchase, he lands at a scummy dealer who prey's on this type of buyer. The negotiation instead is a battle of extending terms and minimizing down payments in order to hit Joe-Bob's monthly payment target and get the sale. Joe-Bob buys the $40k Malibu for 10% down on an 84mo loan. He's barely paying any principle the first year, yet the moment he drove it off the lot, he lost 25% in depreciation. Another year goes by, another 15k miles, he backs in to a parking bollard and cracks his bumper cover. Joe-Bob, not being the smartest with his money management, takes on other debts, life comes around and something happens he decides he needs to get out of the car and get a beater car because he needs the cash. He's two years in on a seven year loan, barely paid principle because the term is so long and trying to sell a beat up two year old car for $20k that he probably owes $28k on. Joe-Bob still owes $8k and still needs somehow pay for a cheap car. If he would've shopped for a good deal on the total price of a car more in line with his budget, say a $18k Kia, he could've put the same $4k down, done a 48mo loan and saved nearly $200/mo on his loan payment. The first scenario plays out at a stupefying rate.

On topic: I'm with Noah Phatt on build quality concerns...between all the creaking and rattling on the '17 M.Y. Alabama builds, and the new facelift interior, wishing everyone the best. I'd live with it for that new cockpit though!

Thanks for explaining you argument Richard, I see your point and it makes a lot of sense.

About the manufacturing location; I had a Nov 1st build date and my SA is now telling me I could potentially have delivery a little past mid November. This makes me think its getting shipped from Alabama rather than from overseas. I'm thinking US-based c43s are still built in alabama but will slowly get phased out in favor of EQ.

Standard money factor (0.002 I believe, which turns out to be 4.8% interest), and an awful residual of about 51%. Both of those combined is why the C63S lease runs around $1,600/month. Far more than a C43.

I have a C43 Sedan on order in the Chicago area. I ordered on 8/7 and heard today that my car was built last week in Alabama and is now waiting at the VPC in Baltimore for processing and release. My dealer doesn't know how long this is going to take, but once released from Baltimore, cars are typically here within two or three days. What are you all hearing?

Mercedes C43 AMG
According to my SA all US dealerships are waiting for the following email:
We have received the necessary Pricing, Monroney Label, Certificate of Origin sign-offs, and Certifications from Vehicle Compliance & Analysis for the following MY19 models:
and they're hoping this will happen by the end of this week or early next.

Delivery time from port to dealership will of course vary but I would assume 3-5 days minimum.

I'm trading in my 2016 C300 sedan on a 2019 AMG C43 Cabriolet! My SA found a pre-configured one for me in Graphite Grey Metalic with the black/red MBTex / DYNAMICA interior. I'm so psyched. Feels a little weird to be buying my first convertible (and first AMG) just as the snow starts flying but it's going to feel great to put the top down at the first sign of spring. I hope what they say about the C43 as a "four season convertible" is true.

2022 E53 Cabriolet
Hey Guys!
New Here, and so glad I stumbled upon this thread.
Thanks for all your posts regarding your delivery updates. Feels better knowing a lot of other people are experiencing the same waiting frustrations.

I ordered mine back in July with an expected delivery of September, and as with everyone else still waiting...
I sold my heavily modified Jeep Wrangler in September thinking I would have the new car by then, wishful thinking!
Thankfully my SA was very accommodating and provided me with a loaner until my new baby arrives.
So I've been driving a 2018 C300 sedan loaner since September, dying to get into my official Benz!!!

Spec:
2019 Diamond White C43 AMG Cabriolet
- Red acoustic top
- Premium Package
- AMG Driver's Package
- Technology Package
- Intelligent Drive Package
- Heads-up Display
- AMG Matte Silver Fiberglass Trim
- Multi-Beam LED Headlights
- 19" AMG Twin 5-Spoke Bi-color Rims

Dealer installed options:
- 35% Window Tint (All Windows)
- Brake Calipers Painted Red

I've included some "preliminary" photos I got from the MB Germany site builder with my specific specs.
THE WAIT IS REAL!!!!

Can't wait to see all your delivery updates, I'll be sure to keep you all posted.

P.S. I've started an Instagram account for my Benz, IG Profile: LifeInTheBenz
A follow would be awesome!!!

Nothing from my SA yet. I went to the dealership this weekend to get the final pricing agreed on. They didn't have any news. It could be this week or it could be December.

Update after 3 weeks ownership.

I really love the car, I'm a fan of sports cars and this C43 T-model is really a performance car for on the streets.
My car is full option and I've got the performance seats, the entertainment system is great, the burmeister is very good, airconditioning is working excelent (this is a pain in the *** on my maserati) the car drives just great, steering is direct, suspension is very stiff as I like it, the 4 matic does its job and the car is really stuck on the ground.

My SA emailed me today..my car just got to the port and they're waiting on govt. certification. He thinks it'll be at the dealer by the end of the month.
