Stock v.s VR Tunned (piggy back) v.s Ecu Tune !

Hey guys did some testing on this C43 amg today.
Here is the reason why everyone should get a ECU tune.
all testing done on mustang dyno @solomotorsports in Atlanta at 89 deg weather.

VR tune piggy back is apparently slow. Not justification for a full tune, but there are def reasons why a full tune is good.

Why didn’t you go with a tuner that has 100’s of hours of development on the M276 instead of a hole in the wall tuner?

To be blunt, dyno graph means nothing. Just a measuring tool for a tuner so they’re able to work. Take it to the track and let’s see numbers.

On a serious note, how much power did you gain from the “S” badge? Thinking about this for my C43.

I posted this just show the difference between a full ecu tune and piggyback. $ 2000 spent on the piggyback dyno tune was $ 1500 and no hole in the wall tuner...😂😂

Perhaps not a hole in the wall to Atlanta locals, perhaps not new to AMG’s either. That still doesn’t net them near the amount of experience the “popular” tuners for the M276 have. Curious what made you ignore that and go with them anyways?

Hopefully the tune works out but going OE or EC would have been a safe bet. Have they tuned other C43s?

Wonder what setting you had vivid box on.....either way for what I paid for the VB I am pretty happy.

I would consider a full tune but leased so sorta defeats the purpose

I know I can change it back but imo not worth the hassle.

Local, have been doing custom tunes for years good experience with them.

I do like what you did to that chrome strip on the trunk. Is that painted or wrapped?

Nobody else is baffled that a stock C43 measured 333whp on a mustang dyno?!?!

Yes, doesn’t make sense. Mustang dyno should read around 285 whp and dynojet should be around 333 whp.

It doesn't matter what the mustang dyno reads stock HP, what matters is the difference on the same dyno in same conditions. A full tune showed close to 80 whp gain, and that's what matters. These cars should trap around 117-118 after a full ECU tune in ideal track conditions.

The mustang dyno is a “load” dyno. The operator can adjust some of the inputs like relative humidity, air temp, density altitude, etc. My guess is they want their dyno to read numbers similar to a dynojet, so they purposely adjust some of those factors in their favor. Makes the customer happier to see a higher power figure and still somewhat accurate, but just a guess.
