C43 2019 without PE
Hi there!
In my country MB doesn't offer the C43 2019 with PE, I know, it sucks big time. MB will not take orders.
I test drove the 2018 without PE and the bangs and pops in sport+ are quite fade, you really need to concentrate to hear them and sometimes there are none bangs. I have the feeling that without the PE the car losses his "AMG soul".
My question is: if someone regrets buying the C43 without PE? is it an "AMG" and any pony car in the street is louder than this aftermarket exhaust is not an option here.
The car is beautiful, I'm waiting for a Coupé but not sure if I should buy it.
Best Regards!

Mind you though if it means you cant get the C43 than thats an entirely different issue. I would still get the car without PE if the alternative means no C43 at all.

Get the performance exhaust. I don't regret it since I never knew it was an option, but i would get it. It saves you the hassle of doing exhaust work. The standard Sport exhaust isn't that bad after the car breaks in, It's still decently loud. The PE is the amplified version.
IF i was able to spec out a C43, The only options i would get would be the PE & upgraded speakers

Seems that because I'm in a 3rd world country (aka México) I cannot order a C43 with PE. BMW can pick personalized orders and 3 months you will have your new car, but MB will no do that.
As I don't have any other option (at least the C43 have the air ride option) I will place my order as soon the coupe arrives.
Thank you all!

Ohhh no, don't think about it. All the bureaucracy to import a car to México is a pain in the ****, plus all the taxes that I will need to pay, customs, local law, environmental certificates etc..
Definitive I prefer the C43 without PE.

Why not just go with an aftermarket exhaust?
AWE has distributors in Mexico City and Guadalajara. The AWE touring exhaust is one of the best alternatives to the PE. Lot's of people on this forum are running it on both C43 and C63 platforms. It's been very well reviewed and it's reasonably priced.

I impulse bought my car at a great price without any research then realised it didnt have PE. A month later I met another 43 owner over FB and went for a drive in his car which had PE. Aftermarket options just do not sound the same. I went through alot of trouble to get the PE exhaust.

If that did not work I was going to sell the car. I believe if you are going to spend this amount of money on a car you need to be 100% happy with it. You could try to find a PE exhaust off a salvage car before you make your purchase? If i found one in Australia im sure its possible from America etc given the market size difference

OP is in Mexico. There is quite a bit of red tape to get parts across the border.
There are a few vids of the AWE touring on youtube. Here's one with a 2017 c43.

This will be an extremely unpopular opinion, but I got my 2018 C43 (with 10k miles and a 10k discount) and it was built without the PE. I like it this way. It still sound great to me, my girlfriend does not really like loud exhauts and the OEM one is quite good, the cold start is wonderful and it sounds great when reving and accelerating in Sport/Sport+. It fits me quite well and the GF is happy.
I do get the opinion that the PE exhaust is a must, but for me it's allright not having it. I got such a great deal on the car and it still got soul to me.

exactly. that is like replacing Bose speakers with aftermarket speakers. aftermarket speakers might sound louder but sound quality is not the same.
