2019 C43 AMG Coupe
Looking at a JB4 for

Since I own my 2019 C43, I want to look for the most reliable/Popular tune/piggyback.
I still don't know if this is worth the risk of blowing up something in my engine(That's not suppose to be exploding).
I am having it installed by a well known mechanic just so if something is wrong with the JB4 or something breaks during the install they are responsible.
I'm worried about the maintenance as well, since the mechanic is pretty far away, but the Merc dealer is really close. I assume i'm going to need to go unplug everything before I go to the dealer or go to the mechanic that's far to get the maintenance done on it.

Anyone have experience or have any knowledge on this so I can better weigh the risks? (Odds of the tune/piggyback damaging my engine since it wouldn't be under warranty)(Worth tacking the tune in and out for dealer trips for maintenance) (Or any tips or tricks)

You have nothing to worry about with jb4. It is very safe and has a lot of safety features. You don’t have to worry about warranty either you just remove it before service and they will never know. Send me a private message and I can contact you if u have more questions I’d be more than happy to answer.

I also heard that this is hard on your transmission, should I be careful of that, also how often do you use it? I don't think i'm going to use it everyday but that is what I said about sport +....

coming from a highly modified Subaru STI, and blowing a motor, and building a much better stronger one, i can assure you that if you mod and mess with your car in anyway, and you decide to take it to a dealer for warranty work, they KNOW... i am not saying i have experience with MB, but think about how high tech a mercedes is, and all the electronics/features that go into these cars. do you really think you can plug something in and out, 'clear some codes' and no one will notice? it might clear some basic shadow codes, but any car mfg will easily be able to look at the brain of the car and see levels/parameters of various different things change. they aren't stupid.

i believe the saying goes, you pay to play. you have to be willing to take the risk and have funds set aside if **** goes south, otherwise keep the car stock and enjoy it for what it is. if you want to keep the cars reliability in its tip top best, dont mess with the car at all.

I use it everyday. I use map 6 which is custom. I’m pushing about 16-17 psi and I drive in sport plus no matter what unless the car is cold. I’ve taken the car to the dealer a few times for warranty stuff. I broke a sensor and they replaced it no problem. I also had accidentally turned off my computer while tweaking some setting on the jb4 and the car threw a bunch of codes and the dealer cleared everything with no issues. I noticed with the added power of the jb4 the car does shift harder, but in a good way. It’s not jolting or jarring in any way, the shifts are just more exaggerated.

There is a group chat with 20+ members, almost all of them have jb4 and have had no issues what so ever. I can add you to the group chat if you would like. It’s the whatsapp application. All I would need is your phone number.

If you have any major issue with the car that will bring Mercedes into it, they can absolutely find out if you’ve hooked up a piggyback. Sure, unplugging it and bringing it into the dealership for general maintenance and/or small things won’t be detected, but if you have a major issue with the motor or transmission and they decide to dig deep, they will know. Make no mistake.

Nice coupe!

Highly recommend the JB4 for a piggyback tune. I put in the JB4 immediately after the breaking in the first 1,000 kilometers on my coupe. JB4 has built-in fail safe features, preset and custom maps, and data logging ability. Logging is awesome! You will know exactly how your car is doing and if it's running safely or not.

Installation is doable by noobs. 3 plugs! Took me 20min to install the first time. 3min to take off before service. 5min to put back in.

Bro.. you definitely don’t need a mechanic for a jb4 install. I’m paralyzed from my chest down and manage to install and uninstall it in my coupe in a matter of minutes...lol
