Extended Warranty Questions
Searched on here but didn't find what I was looking for. Does anybody have experience with or has purchased an extended warranty?
Why you ask? My C450 has about 43k miles on it. I had a repair a month or so ago that MB USA fixed under warranty but took almost a month to diagnose/fix. It could have been a large repair aka new engine, but they were able to fix it with a few new parts. This scares me... if something like this happens again after the CPO warranty is up, I don't think I want to keep the car unless I know if something else happens, it is covered under warranty.
I was reading up on the warranty and saw a big difference in price depending on class of car and timeframe/mileage.
First off, is the C450 considered a C-Class or an AMG? I would think C-Class since it isn't a full blown AMG. But I know dealers like to screw customers over.
Second, is my CPO even eligible or does it have to be for 'NEW' cars aka not 'used' or 'CPO'? If it is eligible, would it start after the extra year CPO warranty expires or after the new car warranty expires?

C450 gets promoted up 1 tier above the regular c class hence is more expensive. I do not believe a CPO vehicle is eligible for a MB ELW.

I purchased an extended warranty for my ‘15 CPO C300. Regular CPO warranty expires 2020. Extended warranty covers me till 2022. I live in NY but purchased from Jeff Jackson at Tafel Motors in KY. Search his name on these forums and send him an email.

He just quoted me $2069 for a 2 year CPO extended warranty with unlimited miles. DEFINITELY doing it!

He quoted me 2 services $1145 or 3 services $1530. They are for every 10k miles and must be used sequentially. So in my case, it would cover my 50k, 60k and 70k services if I wanted. But I don't think I will get it because if I added it up correctly, my next 50k service will be an A service, then B, then A. I think the price paid at the dealership is the same, possibly less, than this package.
Does anybody else have input on this?

Interesting... I haven't had any services, yet. I did my oil changes on my 2005 Kompressor as well as brake pad/caliper change, amongst other things. Although with my C450 I'd rather take to the dealer and have them do the maintenance to save the time and hassle plus I may be lucky and get a nice 2019+ loaner to cruise for a day or so.
