Driving always on Sports+

Who else pretty much drives on Sports+ all the time? Except for probably on long highway drives.

Seems like you don't fully experience the vehicle if the cars not driven on Sports+.

I primarily use Comfort unless I'm in a "go fast" mood.
honestly, I have more trouble understanding why there's a "sport mode". Seems to me that Comfort, Sport+ and Slippery are the only modes you need.

All Sport+ adds is the pops and burbles (due to engine being in Dynamic mode). Sport+ is actually not faster than regular Comfort mode. If you're in comfort mode and manually shifting to keep within the powerband, it's the same as if you're in Sport+. What I dislike about Sport+ is the fake rough upshifts that make the car jolt. I actually drive my car 70% in Reduced engine mode so I can get that Glide function to activate. I average around 28-30mpg driving in mix city and highway this way. Pretty nice! Of course when I want to have fun, I'll throw the engine in Dynamic mode or change to Sport+, but on my daily total commute of 2 hours, driving like a maniac the entire time actually gets boring after a bit.

DO you have PE? This is something I noticed on a PE equipped car but my car does not have it.

Yes, I do have PE. If you don't then I don't think Sport+/Dynamic changes anything other than how high the car idles, so louder engine sounds.

My Individual Mode settings, which I use about 95% of the time (all hail the AMG Control Unit!):
- Default Sport+ settings - engine, transmission & suspension all on dynamic/sportiest setting
- ESP off
- PE on ("Powerful")
- Engine auto stop/start off (via AMG Control Unit button, unfortunately not configurable via Individual menu)
- Manual shift (always always always from the day the break-in period ended, and I'm pleasantly surprised to find that I'm alone in this)

A post on another thread that noted increased squeaks & rattles as a result of always driving in Sport+ has made me a little concerned about the long-term ramifications of my settings and...ummm... **COUGH COUGH** "spirited" driving style.

Oops, your comment makes more sense after I reread mine — I meant to say that I’m, “...pleasantly surprised to find that I’m NOT alone [in using manual shift mode].”

i feel like sports+ is all good until i go on the highway and it hangs onto 7th gear... is this when you would switch back to comfort so it moves up to 9th?

I recently completed my break-in period and always use Sports+ unless I have my family riding with me.

I like to use manual mode but always have trouble shifting to 1st and 2nd gear. Either my reaction is slow or I am not doing it right.

What’s with the traction control off? Isn’t it 4wd anyway so doesn’t really make a difference or does it? Do you get more power?

I also heard that having suspension in comfort instead of the stiffest sport+ will also help with launching for example, didn't compare them myself though.

comfort suspension helps a little 0-60 when u get ur launch dialed in. But if ur running 1/4 mile it doesn’t feel right to me. But this is all my opinion
