What comes under the trunk cover?! C43 AMG

What came under the trunk cover of the C43 AMG? I recently lifted up the trunk cover and there is a large space for something but mine is completely empty? Wondering if the last time I brought in for service whatever was there was taken? Btw I tend to be paranoid.

More storage

Hi.
I was told this is an extra area for storage. Found it's good for those items you want to keep in the car but out of the way.
My C43 had a fold down crate thing that laid flat over the top of the space, slotted into the 4 lugs (2 each end). Been more useful than I had expected. Should be available as an accessory from Mercedes.

Spare tyre unlikely

not likely, although I think you can option a spare tyre. Default tyres on c class are run flats so no spare, I'm told.
My C43 has low profile tyres and has the can of spray and pressure can to fix a puncture.

Isn’t it “officially” a spare tire space though. Some models actually came with one i believe. Also som members are able to fit a spare in that space. Thats why I mentioned it. I could be wrong of course.

in some vehicles with run flats there is an air pump there that connects to the 9V in the car to inflate the run flats...

In Canada and USA there is just a folding plastic crate that sits at the top as previously mentioned. Nothing else.

Wow thanks for the quick replies! Mine is a 2017 bought new, getting old so I don’t really ever remember looking under that cover. I don’t have the foldable crate thing but maybe that was in later models.

There was no spare tire option with the C43. If your car was optioned with the repair kit then it would be stored there.

And come on, do you really think a well paid MB tech is going to risk their employment to steal a $20 item from a customer car?

The shape of the mold I believe has changed over the years, but as said, it's additional storage. My '19 C63S came standard with the foldable crate and the cargo net, I believe it's part of the storage package that some models have standard. Both can be kept under there if not in use. That's basically what it is for. I also stored the warning triangle I got during my ED trip under there, but I now keep the crate in the trunk tied down with the net and keep my loose items in it. The crate is actually very useful to keep stuff from sliding around in the trunk along with the net. If I need the full trunk space, I can store it away under the trunk floor.

Early 2017 C43 build here - mine came with hazard vests, pop-up crate and cargo net underneath.

Hi there OP, I have a Canadian 2017 C 43 sedan here, bought it new and it had a first aid bag, collapsible crate, cargo net sealed in a bag, wheel locks, C-Class operator's manual, service information booklet + service and warranty information 2017 booklet, COMAND system manual, voice control system supplement, both Pirelli and continental warranty guide, a small disc that contains some sort of tutorial for the COMAND system, Mercedes-Benz Companion Supplement.
The car came with the crate position right under the floor cover and on top of the empty space. The first aid kit were placed in the left net above the floor cover, wheel lock was located in the glove box.
