2023 C43 - tinting back glass?
I just purchased the new 2023 C43 AMG. Took it to get tinted & they don’t recommend tinting the back glass due to past recalls. Any word on whether it’s safe for the new models? He said it’ll fry the electronics and my car would need to be towed if it happens. They also wouldn’t be liable in the event it did.

Never heard of any issues with "frying the electronics" on the rear window as its just a defroster but when I tinted my car, the defroster lines caused the tint to not adhere perfectly flat as they are physically raised by millimetres. Still looks fine but it was always something that bothered me, the lines look more pronounced.
There are issues with some pre-facelift cars that had their sunroofs tinted in which the heat absorbed by the tint caused internal stresses in the glass to spontaneously shatter.

Yeah, my 2019 has had Ceramic tint all around for 4 years now and no issues, other than the usual issue that it doesn't perfectly adhere around the defroster elements, which is the same as tinting any rear window.

As far as I remembered, it wasn't ever an issue with the W205 do to the positioning of the SAM, it was for certain W213 models but I am surprised MB made the mistake and put it back in the trunk of the W206 which they had to then install a cover as part of the recall and cover on default for MY23.
