Hmmm, strange, I didn't see this thread pop up in the New Posts section so I missed it. I only saw this thread because you linked it from the oil dipstick pop out thread.

If the grease doesn't work or if the actuator completely fails, replace it, just get a Ford one if you want to save from the brand upcharge: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-c63s-...ml#post8475917

check where is the yellow circle below in the image you should see 3 wholes there you should apply the thermo lubricate wax or whatever is the name in english, if someone manage to try before me please post here updates

P.S. i want to do this as preventive maintenance like changing your engine oil but on longer intervals

Flap harness is a leaker...

harness waterproofing with RTV
harness waterproofing with RTV (high temp silicone)

Kritiyan, while you're helping prevent this flap from failing... you need to silicone the harness penetration into connector.

These wire seals are not waterproof... rain effectively enter module by capilarity.

Cali.. thanks for joining into this thread is really appreciated it, once i go under the car will check my flaps cables how isolated are they, if they're as in the pic above (i used it from another guy short video) will isolate it

on this topic a lot of flaps are reported to be failed in certain milages, friend of mine who have same year same car his flap is stop functioned as it should, not sure either if this is the issue or something else.. on top of that they're not cheap at all (300$ ish) per unit so x2...

will report here once i go under the car and will took some photos, so this thread might be useful for others as i don't find anywhere this to be discussed or anyone to pay attention until something is wrong with the flap

yes, get down there and look at both sides of the connector plug for wet oxidation... (then clear scanner fault).

Then RTV every "sealed" connectors you see under your car near front/rear bumpers especially.

The MB. seals are no match for water capilarity.
Water gets into modules: game over! Can not clean oxidized soaked modules.
Preventive is the only way!!

yes, when you simply unplug it 90% chance it will register a fault regardless of "power being off"... its really only "low power mode", not "power off".

i know from dyno graph test with faulty flap that the car produce 140hp (or something like that) less, so it's not nice at all..

OP, I want to bring your attention to this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/c450-c43-...ml#post9142893

Another reason why forum member CaliBenzDriver's advice to protect the harness is important.

there is the TPM module (pass. rear axle) also
and rear bumper side radars and harness connectors plus front bumper and engine area.
and the ISM priceless shifter (tranny side) its bottom connector can really use RTV.

These cars are temporarily "sealed" to dis-like water... water capilarity always wins.
Use high temp RTV engine-grade automotive sealant to fix that !!

Time to wrap the entire vehicle's underbody Much easier than sealing each individual connector.
