Going to the NYC car show to check out the C63
I am planning to go up to the NYC car show this weekend to check out the C63. Hopefully they will have one there that you can sit in. I am anxious to see how comfortable the seats are. I have sat in the C350 and was not to impressed with the comfort of the seats so I am hoping the AMG seats are a nicer.

I am going to be there as well
but I don't think they will let us sit in the car.
I have a feeling that the public can sit in the standard W204's
and the C63 rotating on the table.
I've spoken to my sales rep, and he told me that they have a section for VIP AMG owners or something like that, so maybe they will get a chance to do so.
but further more I'd really want to see the Lamborghini Reventon.(if its there)
with only 20 produced and 11 within the US, It'll probably the 1st and last time I'll ever see one up close.
I also want to see the M3 Sedan.

I was at the Philly car show last month and they had all of the regular C class models on the turntables and the had quite a few AMG's on the floor that you could sit in. Lets keep our fingers crossed. I am not going until Saturday so if anyone goes before that please let me know if they have one to sit in. It is kinda crazy that everyone is ordering this car without even sitting in one.

I guess there is no nice way to say this - but the reason folks are prohibited from sitting in Mercedes is due to the many years of constant abuse by teens that go in the car and mess it up just because...
I won't say what nationality, or race, but if you speak with representatives from Mercedes Benz USA re: why their doors are locked - they will have on better authority the ability to explain to you the situation that resulted in the decision to not allow folks to sit in the car.

It is very sad - I remmeber going when I was a kid - and used to sit in every single car (except the obvious exotics) - however S600 W140s, 750iL BMWs, etc
Now - When I go in them - I see bits broken off - the shift **** taken off, I saw one time a tear in the leather on the passenger seat. Obviously, done on purpose.
Who can blame high end car manufacturers for choosing to lock their doors.

This is completely incorrect. Last year you could sit inside most of their cars: S, CL, E, M, etc etc. They did not let you sit in the C because the car was not going to be released for another 4 months. No manufacturer will let the general public sit in cars that aren't out yet.

I got to sit in it. Very nice. The car was roped off so no one could sit in it or touch so I started to talk to one of the sales guys and told him that I had one on order and wanted to see if he could open the door so at least I could see in the inside. He said I can do better, I can let you sit in it. He had to get some security so when I got out of the car other people did not try to get up on the stage. I felt like a VIP going up on the stage with everyone watching me get into the car. The front seats are great. They fit like a glove and Nappa leather fealt great. I was so excited that I forgot to have my wife snap some pictures of me sitting in it. Now I have to wait another 3 months to play with my own. Just want to say thanks to all of the MB sales people that were working the floor. It was a great expirence.
