Pics of 2 piece rotors installed on my C63
Installed my two piece rotors today. I saved 6 lbs. per corner. The factory one piece rotor weighs in at 36 lbs. and the new 2 piece weighes in at 30lbs. It's a pretty pricey upgrade, but taking off unsprung weight is always good.

Apparently 2-piece rotors are not available yet even on PP cars. The 2-piece rotor is the same one that comes on the CLK63 Black Series, SL55 030, etc.
Here are pics of our 2-piece REAR rotors we just released for the CLK63 Black Series. We will be offering a 2-piece REAR rotor for the C63 as well. We are currently evaluating offering a 2-piece FRONT rotor for the CLK63/C63 which would be much cheaper and most likely lighter than even the factory 2-piece.

a durr
2 piece rotors are less prone to warping as the metal expands and then cools. the 2 piece design allows the rotor and the center mount to expand at different rates from the heat generated by the brakes. single piece rotors will warp into a cone shape over time if they are repeatedly used in heavy braking situations, causing uneven brake pad wear.

$1800 clams for looks? I don't get it (shakes head). Sure they look pretty sweet, but so do the stockers. Braking performance won't improve - it's the same size and type of friction surface. As someone above said, they're less likely to warp is all.
