L O V E it... release a torque monster in time for frost. Typical GM thinking.
I almost bought a first gen CTSV - but the dealer attitude combined with all the rear end problems... made me run like hell for the hills!

and as the review sez:
Key Specs:
*Limited-slip differential made of cast iron
*Main competitors: BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG, and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG
*Engine Type: 6.2L supercharged V8 (LSA)
*0-60 mph: 3.9 seconds
How do you figure game over? We do 0-60 in 3.9 stock (as tested in C&D) and all that is before the tuner magic restores the missing 70 torque and ponies!

But I do agree, 0-60 doesn't mean much with this kind of power. 0-100 #s mean more to me.

Hmmm, Cadillac or AMG, I think the choice is obvious, unless of course, you want to "Shake Rattle and Roll" american style after 12 months of driving. And please, dont start bashing me about how the american cars have improved so much in this department, i will agree to a certain point about improvement, but nothing like the europeans.

That car is just plain nasty, and you can buy it in a stick. Yeah, the AMG has more cache, but for the first time in a long time, the CTS-V presents a worthy alternative and the quality appears to have risen dramatically. That being said, the way to buy that thing is to wait a year and buy it for 45 grand

It's funny how a couple of days ago, a guy pulled up to me on the highway in traffic admiring my C63 & gave me a thumbs up. He had a '07' CTSV. I returned him a thumbs up & he told me he would rather have my car due to the fact that his CTSV left him stranded on the highway not once but twice.

Come on lets be real here, I have a C63 on order but it just irks me when you guys act like MB is the god of manufacturers. If that were to happen to GM you guys would be crucifying them. Personally right now I still prefer the C63(unless it gets delayed one more time at which point i'm throwing in the towel) even though it wont be nearly as fast the CTS-V, but give credit where its due. The CTS-V is going to be one BAD *** car, and this is coming from a car enthusiast, not a nut hanger of one particular brand.

20+ to list......
CTS-V poses as a new threat to GM's major European rivals in terms of performance, but I still prefer an European vehicle than Domestics, because I don't buy a car solely for its performance, but the overall package. In terms of CTS-V vs. C63, put it this way, for another 5k, you can get 550hp from Kleemann, add the better fit & finish with better material, the C is a hands down winner in my book.

Lets see what Lingenfelter (sp?) could do and then what? This becomes an e-pissing match.....Go check with Jrcart over at the BS forum. He has a current- gen Lingenfelter modded CTS-V and a Evosport BS.
We can agree that AMG has the heritage and pedigree, but stock-for-stock and price, this is a great package.

Then we add some NOS, get some coil overs, camber plates, sway bars, strut bars, light weight wheels (none of that 20 inch bling bling bull****), remove the cat, strip out the interior (**** all the luxury), replace all windows with plexiglasss, put just enough fuel into the fuel tank for a 1/4 mile pass, remove the side mirrors, take out the air conditioning unit. Maybe a turbocharger, or a supercharger, or even both. Delimit the rev limiter so the engine will scream towards 10 000rpm. A winner in my books!

2008 Jeep SRT8 NOW ... C63 IN MAY!
I love my c63 - but ive got news for everyone - THE NEW CTS-V WILL EAT OUR CAR ALIVE ... NO QUESTION, just look at the specs ... I'm not crazy about caddys either, but we're at a loss this time - 6.2 Supercharged W/ 550 hp ... that car is going to be a total beast ... new pullys, exaust, intake, etc - basically all snap on parts - 650 - 670 hp easy.
