Back from the drag strip...
I only managed to get 2 passes in 5 hours; a lot of cars running including several 9 and 8 sec cars
And some very fast bikes, some trapping 155 mph.But anyway, my best pass was:
R/T: .537
60': 2.331

1/8: 8.711
MPH: 87.32
1/4: 13.183

MPH: 110.53
I spun hard at the line. I tried telling myself before the race to quickly feather the gas halfway, let it hook, and then floor it, but as soon as that light turned green I just floored it...both times. Gotta work on controlling those nerves. (not enough room to drive around waterbox either) I'm fairly happy with the trap speed though. I was hoping to get in the 12s @ 113 or so, but oh well. The weather was good so I can't blame it on that. 30.09inHG and 55F, track elevation 150 ft.
Sooo, if I can get my 60' around 1.8 what type of times and traps could I expect? Just for reference, there was a Ferrari F430 vert that ran and posted a 13.3 or something at 113. I was expecting it to do much better...but I can understand why now mag times are not always easy to achieve.
you were only a second off some of the best times here.
BUT i gotta say 2 passes in 5 hours!!!!!!???????? how much does
that cost? I would rather go to a road course and get 5-7 sessions in one
day with 30 minute sessions to get your drivers skill honed.
How does the drag strip work?
And a Scud at the drag strip OMG! He should be flogged! However
now we can go around and say the C63 is faster than the scud!!LOL!
I wasn't sure exactly what all was going on, they had what seemed like 4 different groups they were rotating through. Street cars, bikes, non-street legal drag cars, mini drag cars, cash bash event, track prep. It was a good time though and a fun environment so no complaints.
Probably too late this year, but I do plan on attending some road course sessions as well...I like it all

Oh yeah, the cost is $30 all day, lasts from 8-5.

. For comparisons' sake, my ex SLK55 ran consistent 110-111 traps and it would hit 12.7-12.8 ET's with 1.8/1.9 sixties.P.S. don't wait til you see green either, leave on the last yellow - it won't change your actual times, but it will go a long way towards beating the guy in the next lane! The nice thing about your first track visit is it always gets better next time out
