CF Air box Installed
Our friend Vic at VRP helped my install my CF Air Box this afternoon. Here are a few quick iPhone shots (not the best)
First thinking I have noticed is increased throttle response and a lot more guts at 3/4 Throttle between 2nd,3rd and 4th.
Better pictures and review to come in a few days after I put some more miles on it.

oh oh, the transformation begins, beautiful piece, you should look into a clear/seethrough hood ala F430, much to pretty to keep hidden!

I have to politely ask a question, it appears that the actual air intake remains stock. Is that right? It seems to me without addressing that bottleneck, it matters little what you do downstream. Like feeding a 4" muffler from 1" exhaust tubes. The first time I opened the hood, I thought those intake openings and arms seemed small for 6.2l/451hp.
Will that be part of the mod?

Thanks guys,
No dyno planned for the near future. I want to break it in first. The big thing here is the removal of the 2 stage OEM Paper/Charcoal filters that have a strangle hold on the 6.3's ability to breath. I have installed VRP's Hi Flow foam filter for now and also have a set of their folded Cotton filters to try later.
For the most part the Cf is cosmetic, however during the process of making the CF for the airbox, VRP has inserted a thermal barrier into the CF weave so the air in the box remains cool and not affected by the heat sealed in the engine bay. Countless hours of air flow testing was also performed in order to ensure a smooth flow of cool air to travel to the throttle body, all of which in turn increases HP, particularly midrange. I have put about 200 klm on since the box and filters went on and I can tell you that the engine feels livelier especially from 2nd through to 5th gears. I would recommend to all 63 owners to at least swap out the OEM 2 stage filters.
The intent now is to put on some miles then do a base dyno, (we all know how the C63 stands out of the box) to see what we get from the box/filters alone. Then Phenolic Spacers/Intake temperature relocate. later the rest of the 530 kit (pulleys) and finally an ECU tune (Brand TBD) probably in February.
This is a TON of FUN!!!

Victor who is President of VRP resides in Toronto.
If you order air filters from them for the C63 they ship from Toronto.
Check the link... it shows Canadian Head office: http://www.vrptuning.com/about.php
