Who built your engine and does it matter?
My question is, really, does it make any difference who that individual might have been? Is it possible to ask for a vehicle that had its engine assembled by a certain mechanic? Should I even care?

But I recently got a tour of the AMG facility and I must say they are all very professional and the quality of their work is top notch. If a builder is out of work while working on an engine his engine simply just gets pushed to the side on the builders stand and sits there waiting for the builder to come back. All the engines are checked at multiple locations along the assembly to ensure everything is good. Leak tests are performed at the end of the line along with complete oil fill (Both pan, and pressurized oil through the galleys). After this the engines are then sent to a separate location of the facility in which they are ALL cold run in which they have a motor turn the crankshaft to ensure propper oil pressure is built up along with compression. Random engines are chosen to be run on a dyno.
Needless to say it is quite an amazing facility.
