A Lamborghini Story--Believe It Or Not

I just got my car back today from a high-end mod shop in Orlando. I got the MHP ECU, etc., among other things (but this was my only performance mod per se). This is a shop that deals with all kinds of high-end cars, including lots of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Aston-Martins, BMWs, etc. But... this was their first C63. So, these guys know their stuff, tune a lot of high-end cars, and drive these cars, too. (I have been driving a Hyundai Sonata the last couple weeks... you know how tough it is to "control" a C63 after driving that for a few weeks?!?!?) So a couple of these guys said some things that really made me smile. They went on about what a "supercar" feel the C63 has, even before the ECU upgrade, and especially after. They said none of the other AMG models seem to compare in the aggressive, "non-mushy" feel that the C63 has versus the bigger AMG models. But one unsolicited thing they told me really made me wonder, and grin: they said my C63 was faster than a Lamborghini Gallardo. He just said it outta the blue. I said, "really?" He said, "no doubt. That thing feels gruntier and faster than a Gallardo."

Well. OK. It may, or may not, be. But suffice it to say, it would probably be hard to tell much driving difference between the two (but I can really tell a difference in the price tag.) And if you have a Lamborghini, I am certainly willing to say your car totally, completely rules.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the car Todd!

I ran a Gallardo with v1 tuning and pulled 2 cars from 15-70 then he gained them back and pulled a bit ahead by 120. With v2 (what we're both currently running) I'm sure you'd put another car on it below 100 and I'm not sure he'd catch up as fast if at all above that.

How much does your stereo weigh?

Andy from MHP ran a gallardo I believe and led half a car from 40 until about 100mph....I can believe it.

Did you get just ECU or ECU/TCU?

Edit: Andy beat me to it. What kinda stereo system did you put in?

P.S. I will post some pics later... audison/hertz ML1600s, JL Audio sub x1 in the back and amps... all told, I think we kept things "weight-neutral" by getting very lighter wheels.

P.S.S. Not as fast as this Gallardo... watch the videos. Incredible. 1000hp, 0-60 3.2s, and sub-10 quarter miles. Whoa.

P.S.S.S. MHP tune is all that it's cracked up to be. The shifts are *so* much more enjoyable now. The paddles actually work!!! When you flip 'em!!!

Thanks on the v2 props. I was on 265/40/18 MT DRs.

2014 E63

The early year Gallardo's are very slow for an exotic car. Mid 12's, right in line with the C63s.

Newer ones are much faster than a C63.

Lambos = slow that is matter of perception for sure. The quarter mile may not be there game. '06 and up cars should run low 12's in the 117-118 range.

The deal isn't finalized as of yet, but 75% done. The car market and lending industry is crazy right now.

I could care less what that car runs in the 1/4, the sound alone is worth the price of admission. Also as I've witnessed first hand, above 100 they explode.
