C63 or SL 63?

Hi guys. My apologies for starting another topic , while my previous topic "Need help configuring the C63" remains unsolved.

I am now tossing between the C and the SL 63. Still have about 2 -3 months before I pull the trigger. My main requirement is daily driving as my LP is my weekend car.
Now I now , DD = C63 . But the thing is , I really like the SL as well. Something about the bad boy image of a black SL 63 that attracts me .

Other than the obvious advantage of the C 63 being 2 additional doors and seats over the SL , I need some pro's and con's from owners and experts . Is the SL daily driveable and any other suggestions regarding what to choose? Please help.

Well they are completely different in every way... Especially price! I dont see how you could compare the two, or put them in the same category when purchasing a car... BUT my opinion is obv get the SL63, I have the C63 and I am obsessed with it, but the new SL63 is redic!

ALL of these benz's are daily drivable. Except MAYBE the 65's...but even those can easily be daily drivers...but not worth the money IMOP!

Hmm. But still , are these two cars equal in performance ? I ask this because when I pull the trigger , I can't reverse it and as such , due to high import duty , I won't be able to sell the car. Although I love the C63 for its performance and comfort , but 0 -62 mph (0 - 100kmph) wise , are these two not equal?

Very similar - the SL might be a tick or two quicker. Tuned vs. tuned, they'd be close. Agree w/ others that your comparison of these two is a bit unusual - you could buy 2 C63's for the cost of entry into an SL63.

If you can financially swing the SL purchase, you might want to extend your search to include other marques - Porsche, BMW, Aston Martin, etc. Good luck and happy hunting!

Hmmm. I basically need a daily driver . For my performance/speed pangs , I usually take out my LP. I am a registered member on 6speed and Team-BHP as under 'ecksreturns' (If any one wishes to check my authenticity) .

The only thing that is keeping me away from the SL is its price. In India , it would cost me , with my options , a whooping 2 + crores , or in US $ , about 400K . And the C63 , with all my options , would be around 1.3 crores ( about north of 200K) . So yeah , for the price of one SL , I can buy 2 C63's. But my basic application is DD. So I was just wanting to know , performance to performance , if both the cars are almost equal , then I would not have much hesitation in placing an order for the C63.

There doesn't appear to be a huge difference in performance between the two cars. But I suspect the minute you sit inside the SL, you'll appreciate why it costs double the C63.

+1

C63 is clearly the better value but the SL63 interior is much nicer plus the top retracts, the transmission has MCT, and the engine note is fabulous.

Two quick stories.

Last spring I was traveling top down in my SL55 and the guy in the next lane asked me at a traffic light which company did the custom interior on my SL55. I told him the truth: it came that way from the factory.

I work out of a home office. Last fall I heard an incredible sounding car and went outside to see what it was. You can probably see where this is headed: it was an SL63.

MB’s of all kinds.
The performance is not too much different like stated before. I personally would take the SL 63. Looks better and the interior is far better.

Given you already have the LP as a weekend car ... I think you only need to think whether you need those extra 2 seats at the back. If you do then C, if not then why not another nice convertible for the summer.

I like (read love!) the C63 for it's power, nimbleness, etc. including the fact it has rear seats so my child can sit there. However, since I haven't driven the SL63 I don't know if it's more nimble than the C63.

What do you need from your high performance vehicle?

Or, since your such a grade-A baller here, you can go ahead and just get the SL65 Black Series and mop the floor with your LP.

I think you'll appreciate this, sell the VW err Audi err Lambo and buy a BS 65 and a C63.

I stand corrected. Get the C63, you already have an awesome 2 seater. TC

Huh? German-built Italian exotic? Isn't that an oxymoron?

Unless you are referring to the LP640?

I suppose the question is... are we talking Murci LP or Gallardo LP? Both are phenomenal, IMHO...
