I tried to have this debate with Andy moons ago but he was to bull headed and everyone seemed to have drank the cool-aid already.

You can flash it though the port but sending him you ecu does not change the tune of the TCU.

I think in time the truth will come out.

Here is what I had ready to be posted in the poll thread about Andy. I dont dislike his product since I dont know if it works first hand. I just dont like his attitude or business practices.

The guy has been suspended what 3 times? This kid has an attitude problem. I don't understand why people respect him or feel they should send him any money at all. The fact that he repeatedly breaks the rules, acts like a two year old, and makes his company look like something run out of closet makes me think he should be left to his own devices.

You don't see the other tuners around here doing this. Its hardly a classy establishment. Do you see Brabus, RENNtech, Kleemann or VPR engaging in this childish bs? From where I stand Andy acts like a drunk college student out to prove that his unit is the largest by means of a bar brawl. Anyone with an opinion different than his is by default a absolute moron who needs to be yelled at and attacked.

Any civil person with an ounce of class and business knowledge would NEVER act the way he does.

His repeated violations TOU, taunting of other tuners, insulting of other tuners, and posting of FALSE information about other tuners products makes me disrespect his business even more.

VRP is the best example of how a sponsor should design and promote parts. Ask Vadim if he would ever disrespect VRP and his own division of the VRP company by acting like Andy. Its not hard to see Andy has created a few fans here but a bucket full of people who think hes a dingus who has an ecu tuner programing cars for him while he runs around the internet starting fights. If his figures are real his TUNER who WRITES the code is talented. All I see Andy do is pick fights (what he considers promoting his product).

I am sure I will get a heap of junk thrown at me after this but hey I am ready for it and really dont mind. Someone should state the facts who does not have a vested interest in the product.

Maybe the powers that be could call for some kind of congressional probe or senate sub-committee into theses shocking allegations and launch a full investigation into this ECU / TCU scandal.

Then after the investigation there could be all new sweeping reforms (for the public good) in the automotive aftermarket, followed up by a recommendation for a federal "ECU Zar" to oversee everything related to the programing of ECU use.

If the valve body only has some solenoids on top of it and no processor, than what controls the 722.9 trans in vehicles that have the M113 motor in it with ME2.8? I don't think that ME2.8 has the ability to control shifts.

I have replaced dozens and dozens of 722.9 valvebodys for various reasons and the valvebody has to be programed, vin assigned to vehicle, transport lock removed with star diagnosis, and shift adaptations must be performed.

ME9.7 does have a lot to do with trans controls because per MB if either ECU or TCU (valvebody) is programed the other one must also be programed at the same time. Otherwise can control codes will be set and trans may go into limp mode. So there is deffinetly more than just some solenoids on top of that valve body.

I may upload some pics for you guys tonight. just so happens I replaced a .9 valvebody on a 05 E500 today.

Hmmmm...... very interesting stuff keeps pouring in here, and I'm glad information is finally coming out

Okay, so now we at least know that the TCU can be flashed without having any components removed from the car at all.

EDIT: Another question here would be: does everything that gets flashed from the OBDII scanner go through the ECU first or can a flash by-pass the ECU and go directly to the TCU

Next, we need to find out if someone can update the TCU by only flashing the ECU....

You are correct sir. My tech just TXT'd me back. Said that when the cars are plugged into the system there is a tech in Germany that looks at the car to be upgraded. The programming (ECU) has to be requested online and authorized from MBCanada.

I am a bit confused though - OP said

I have an MHP tune, i would be fairly pissed off if i was scammed, wouldnt surprise me too much though, i mean sh*t like that happens all the time. I can see it going either way for many reasons.

Andy hasnt been on any other forum for a while, and club lexus has caught on to this post ... you think he would defend the claim on another forum, someone would link to it and then this thread would get shut down....

thats what i would do - but i might have just got scammed so what do i know??

PS - Someone should start the poll, "is MHP tune a scam" hahaha i would vote.
