More tickets?

In the last 2 weeks I've received 2 speeding tickets. One for 80 in 55 and other for 65 in 45. In the second, I was hauling a$$ at night down a state route and passed a cop who was driving in the other direction. He zapped me with instant on before I had a chance.

Pleading not guilty and hoping judge reduces the charges (2 different districts).

Anyone else experience increase in tickets with this car?

It's not the car that increases the tickets, it's the drivers

Yes, myself and friends have had 2 and even 3 tickets in a row, sometimes over two days in a row with the same cop, same place. frustrating.

Surely you have the same thing, up here in Canada we have people (former cops) that go to court on your behalf and make deals with the prosecutor. We offer to not fight the ticket if they are willing to drop the demerit points on the ticket. I have used these guys for the last half dozen tickets over 10 years or so and the courts have never refused this deal. These guys are a lifesaver. Their cost used to be $100 but it is I think $200 now plus the amount of the ticket. Its just the cost of driving.
Actually, you were not speeding, everybody else was just going in slow motion....

Good luck, and get some electronic laser/radar protection in that car.

Fix it tickets = cops trying to make quota...and you were just unlucky
But be warned guys, I have seen a lotta cops out these days just issuing tickets. I dunno if the bailout has anything to do with it and the gov't just needs money or what, but safe.

I personally wanna speed, but 1 more ticket and my liscence will be suspended.

Indeed. I'll ask the court if I can pay the fine, plus do some community service in lieu of the points. We'll see. I'll update this thread after my hearing.

I didnt think PA cops used moving radar?

Hopefully you can get those reduced to just the fine and no points. Good luck

Agreed. I thought the law states they must be stationary to shoot radar.

I've been thinking about fighting the ticket based on this technicality versus just going in there and saying yeah, I was speeding, sorry. Perhaps I'll try the latter and if that seems to be failing, I could segue into the technicality thing.

If you feel like fighting it I would get an attorney. I am almost positive State Police cannot use moving radar.

Heres a link to a radar website,
http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...-radar-pa.html

Again, if you wana fight it I would get a lawyer.

The moving radar detection by police is not legal. Well at least here in Canada, even if you are driving really fast and the officer(s) in that car do not clock you while you pass by them, they cannot give you a speeding ticket because it would be null. They wouldn't know your speed, they are not allow to guesstimate nor can they fight it in court to convict you of the charge. They can however give you a warning based on their visual analyzation.

High horsepower luxury european sports sedan = be careful. Of course, you know this, as you have many former rides that are quite sporty.

Agree with some others, if you want the best shot, hire a lawyer who specializes in tickets. Two tickets, 20 and 25 mph over the limits respectively, in a two week span... I don't like your chances, but who knows...

I suggest hiring a lawyer. Several years ago I hit for a 83 in a 55. Paid a lawyer $500 -- he said he would pay the fine and keep whatever was left. At the end of the day, paid a $300 fine, paid $200 to the lawyer and got no points. Against the insurance increase for the points (over how many years?!), it was some of the best money I ever spent. And I didn't have to go to court, either.

Enforcement is a revenue source to most towns.
Lower tax receipts mean they need more revenue from somewhere else.

It's only gonna' get worse.

I pulled into my local gas station (that i've got to know real well thanks to the C63's tiny bladder and relentless thirst for 93 octane) and my wife and daughter stayed in the care. While I'm checking out, these two motorcycle cops got off their bikes and walked over and were looking all around my car. I don't have a front license plate and in TX its required. So I'm thinking, ****, what now? I walk out and they are like "nice car, man! Love the calipers!" Turns out one of the guys had a AMG of some flavor in the past and they were just admiring. So I had to give them a few revs in neutral on the way out and they just laughed. I asked him kindly not to pull me over in the future and he said he couldn't make any promises. Cool guys though.

If its almost license supension time, it sounds like it's time to get the radar detector/laser diffuser/scorpion radar jammer/police scanner combo put into your car

or just drive like a grandmother =\

No tickets so far and for the past two months I've been in this mellow driving mode. My wife actually like to ride with me now. I think I'm going to get my free testosterone level checked. Sigh ; )

Get a good radar/laser detector. The are worth their weight in gold. Trust me don't wait till you have barely any demerits left before you get one. Its saves you on one pull over and it pretty much paid for itself.

Thanks for the tip. I think it's worth the $, as losing the license will cost a fortune in inconvenience. So, if anyone knows a good traffic court attorney in Pittsburgh, PA, please PM me.
