Well I'll be,.... dem thinks look good Razor. Daaaammmmmm! I was considering having my wheels chromed, but you've opened up a new door. If I'm not being too forward, what did the process set you back? And,... what was is a reasonable turn-a-round? They look awfully good,...especially on a Raven. Nice touch!

hey no worries man - like i said we have a mb in the family also - my main reason for going for the v was the stick shift , I could have went with the stick in the new m5 but i heard those were prettty crappy considering they were just thrown in to appease the true bimmer crowd

I have both the GT-R and C63. They're both awfully fast. The GT-R is much easier to drive quickly and I know of at least 11 other GT-R owners that are having no problems whatsoever with theirs. Nissan recently released a TCU software update that prevents you from abusing the GT-R's transmission when launching from a standstill. The GT-R was not designed to be driven for the purpose of drag racing, but was built to be a track superstar. Neither was the C63, but rather it is an autobahn burner.

SOUTHFIELD, MI – The 11 winners of the 2009 Ward’s Interior of the Year awards have two key elements in common: great looks and great value.
Ward’s editors evaluated a field of 35 vehicles that are either all-new or have significantly upgraded interiors for the ’09 or ’10 model years.

“There are certain aspects we look at closely in the Interior of the Year competition, and value is just as important to us as fit-and-finish, styling, comfort and safety,” says Drew Winter, editor-in-chief of Ward’s AutoWorld magazine.
“An interior doesn’t have to be expensive to be good,” Winter says. “But it does have to convey a sense of high-quality craftsmanship and have pleasing textures and low-gloss surfaces. Electronic systems have to be intuitive and easy to use and not just focus on offering a high number of features and functions. Consumers are becoming a lot savvier about what they want inside their vehicles.”
This year’s winners:
Honda Fit Sport (Economy-priced car)
Volkswagen CC (Popular-priced car)
Kia Soul (Grooviest Interior)
Acura TL (Premium-priced car)
Nissan 370Z Touring (Sports car)
Dodge Ram (Popular-priced truck)
Ford Flex (Premium-priced truck)
Audi A4 (Best Redesign)
Ford Fusion Hybrid (Best Graphic Display)
Lexus RX 450h (Design Harmony)
Cadillac CTS-V (Best Brand Expression)
All 35 vehicles were divided into six car and truck segments based on price. One winner is named for each of the six categories, plus special-achievement honorees are selected in five other areas. The 11 awards carry equal weight.
Having both types of awards allows vehicles to compete with others in their segment, as well as with the entire field, regardless of price.

I was realllly considering the GTR. But in the end it came down to the fact that one's a stickshift, maintenance cost, and the fact if i get stranded somewhere should something happen it could be a realy b*tch to get to a GTR certified dealer. I had the dealer swap my oil, trans, & diff fluid at 700miles this week. Cost me all of $450.00 more money into the mod pot.
And as for the interior, I compared the C63 to the V with a very concerning eye, and while there are differences, the V's interior is hardly cheap. I wouldn't use that word for either interior. I do think the V's interior is better laid out and has a slight edge on functionality. And like with Razor, the manual trans option was a key consideration for me as well. And everything I read suggested the TR6060 was a serious and reliable box.

Yep,... $279 for all three. This was a part of my 'Service B', which came to a total of $565. Items 5,6, & 8 where fluids and priced out @ $279. Looks like the rest was for charcoal and air filters, to re-tap a screw on the left air filter housing, bushing lube and a battery of other inspection items.

I don't know though Razor,... maybe you're right and the price was discounted because it was part of the Service B. I did walk outta there dropping a little over 5 bills don't forget. Maybe it would have been in line with what you say had I just requested the fluid swap alone.
I just did a google for Chrome Plating in my area. What should I be looking for when reviewing some of these company's web sites? Should I be looking for shops to do auto/motorcycles only? Or maybe a shop that uses a particular process? Never had anything chrome plated before, let alone wheels. And if I can find a shop locally, I won't have to worry about shipping and buying an extra pair of shoes for the V, while the dress shoes are out at the cobblers.

The main reason I didn’t opt for the GT-R was because of the tranny issues, I heavily considered it for a while before going with the Benz (I drive my cars pretty hard most of the time).
That makes sense that GT-R's shouldn’t really be used for drag racing; Japanese cars are not really built for that...
When you say its easier to drive quicker what do you mean exactly? Because of the handling/control?

Tesla Motors is my friends' company. I'm still waiting for delivery this May. 0-60 around 3.9-4.1. Off the line it's crazy quick, no drama like in a C63 or even the GT-R. Top speed 130.

Well folks,... had my first serious malfunction today. No Reverse! Did some pretty aggressive shifting over the weekend, but it worked fine up until end of work today. Had to get help pushing me out of my parking space at work. Real embarrassing. Called the dealership and got a a.m. visit tomorrow,... glad it's Friday. Will report the outcome.
BTW,... had a C55 jump on me a little over a week ago. Dispatched his *** in quick fashion. But still, that's saying little,... the 55's are only marginally quicker than the 32's. Venue was not the best also!
