C63 Interior

I love C63's, but I still can't get pass the overly-plastiky interior.

For a $70k car, it has a $15k interior.

How do you guys live with it?

I've got the sahara beige interior and I really love it. I don't mind some of the plastic bits. The stereo is good and I like the navi. I also like the screen display through the stereo wheel.

I like the black/sahara beige interior as well, and personally, I think it's one of the better combo's for the C63.

But I sat in a CLS63 and an S65.........and they had full leather interiors, suede lining, and nice details everywhere. The difference was night and day.

I've also noticed only the AMG CLS' and S' have much better interiors, while the AMG C's, E's, G's, SLK's, etc. have only slightly improved interiors from the base models.

What gives???

That's why it only costs about $70,000.

Go buy a Rolls Royce then. IMO, the interior is comfortable, functionable and very well crafted. And it -or at least MINE-doesn't have a SINGLE rattle. Unlike my former $100,000 Porsche 996 C4. (not to mention that the P.O.S. required $20K of warranty work during the 39 months I had it in my possession.

Go drive a Ferrari 360 Modena and then jump into the C63AMG-not only do I like the interior better in the M-B, it is far a better performing car.

Can't please everybody.

C63 09' LSD traded for 2010 GT-R
Initially I was turned off by the plastic quality on the dash/doorpanels coming from a C55, C32 and various BMW.

Trust me I am at peace with myself. When I start the car the nav screen with bluetooth (giant plus in my book) pops up and the car rips away at the asphalt, I don't even notice the quality of the plastic!

Ever ycar has plastic these days unless it's a 200K+ supercar. The C63's interior (in my opinion) is well built and feels solid. The buttons and controls are well positioned and have a good build quality to them. Everything feels pretty good to the touch and I think the design is pretty good looking in my opinion. Compared to my old 2005 SLK55...this car is SO MUCH BETTER.

The guages are easy to read and look awesome...seat and steering wheel adjustments are easy and the steering wheel feels AWESOME.

I don't know why you're b1tching so much...but hey...that's just me

I think the interior is pretty lackluster as well compared to a $90k S-Class. I wish MB offered like a $4k "luxury interior" package for the C63.

But for MB's "entry-level" product line, I can see why they are trying to skimp. They should just know that we've noticed.

It's very similar in nature to the M3 versus the regular 3-series. The interiors are nearly identical.

On the C-class, there is a sea of plastic especially on the passenger's side. I'm not so fond of that, and perhaps an AMG badge somewhere in that vicinity would break it up a bit.

But I understand why it's that way. I went into this car with that expectation.

From MB you would not get much for $4,000. The Designo interior in my wife's S550 was $13,000. It is stunning but expensive as hell and does not get much on resale or trade.

carbon fiber, is a "plastic", isn't it? It is formed when plastic resins combine the fussy mess.

The best thing MB could do is just change out the cheap plastic finish on the radio. Make it like the new E class, shiny black.

The 2000 W202 C43 AMG had a top-notch quality interior, and it's a C-Class.

Even the 2006 C55 AMG had a nicer interior.

For the W204, they cut too many corners. (Not even the mesh grill on the front is metal anymore, it's plastic now.)

I always assumed new cars would get better with each iteration and time, not the other way around.

Just my $0.02.

I agree, my 99 C43 had a good interior, I passed on the C32 because of its interior, my '05 C55 has a better interior and IMHO that interior is still better than all new c-classes inclusive of the C63 with the leather option. Don't get me wrong -- the C63 has plenty of other fantastic qualities that far exceed the C55, but the interior is not one of them. Perhaps I will have adjusted to it when it comes time to move to the C63. Unfortunately, it is not likely that MB will improve the interior in later iterations of the same model. They could, however, simply improve the quality of the plastic used for the dash and trim. It would go a long way towards making the car that much better.

Yeah, it'd be great if every mass-market manufacturer paid as much attention to the interior design, fit, and finish the way those boys at Audi do.

*sigh*

As much as I dislike Audi's current grill/body design..........their interior's are second to none.

So what we need is, the engine/body/tranny of a C63 with the interior quality/fit & finish of an Audi.

one of the reasons I chose the sahara beige interior, i feel it gives the car a more luxurious interior - the black was too plain for me

i agree with what someone said earlier, more piano gloss black versus the matte gray plastics -

Im currently driving a supercharged range rover sport, and the interior is CRAP!

and speaking of audi - i walk by one every morning on the way to the ferry - its a black RS4 with black/red interior - now if the C63 came with that, game over

I'm most likely going to go with black/sahara beige when I order mine in a few months. It's definitely very nice looking. I'll just try to not look at the radio console area and be reminded of the horrible plastic, lol.

I'm still not sure about what exterior color though.

OT but how do you guys feel about that RBS Carbon Kit that Wan888 has?

I have a full Euroteck carbon kit on my W203 now........but I think I'm done with CF trims in general. Aftermarket kits in general, IMO, can never seem to fit right, no matter how many people seem to attest to it. OEM is still best.

And PAT, any pics of the RRS? I didn't know their interiors were that bad; why do they suck?
