Remote starter for C63
Has anyone made available a remote starter for the C63?
I saw a thread a while back where some aftermarket outfit was in the process of doing this but had not finished the project.
Any help is appreciated.

Midcity Engineering is working on something. I think they are testing it in the W204 now.

The W204 (C and GLK) Starter is finished and I have to say that its working beautifully. The starter is completely plug-and-play and installs quite easily and allows the vehicle to be started with the factory remote. Optionally you can add an extended range 1 or 2-way remote that will allow remote lock, unlock, trunk, and start from up to 3000 ft away. The 2-way remote also provides confirmation of any of the button presses.

The W204 version starters will be shipping next week. If anyone has any questions, feel free to give us a call at 312.421.1114

Can you add a shock sensor in a car and page to a remote if somebody or something hit the car?
I had 2-way alarm before and found it usefull to be informed if something happened.
My old Maxima was hit twice on a parking and I got the signal.

Yes, the smartkey starter works on any W204 C, with keyless go or without. There is a Keyless-Go version of the Smartkey starter that costs a bit more that retains the full Keyless go function during the remote start cycle (e.g. it allows you to use the touch unlock entry feature while the vehicle is remote started).

One of the offshoots of the Smartkey starter project is that we are developing a full line of add-in alarm/pager features for all newer MB models so yes we will have exactly what you want in the coming weeks.

SL63 is in the lab today for remote starter.... We believe that the vehicle is very similar to the E class electrically, just the plugs are different which means that only the plug-and-play harnessing is different...
I will have more details tomorrow and can get you an idea as to when we will have kits available.

I have an 09 with keyless go. How much would this remote starter cost?? Who can install it?

I'm considering it just because MBUSA doesn't offer a keyless go option for our C63s. I miss the feature from my 335Ci. I like being able to just leave my key in my pocket while driving. I could care less about the actual remote starting though (I live in a fairly mild climate as well).

My thoughts about remote starter:
- It would help to preheat the engine before going in any weather,
- Do not need to press a break and fully sit in the chair. The best place to start the car is been behind it!
- Should work stable, becase the working time of a starter is already built in to the car (with keyless go). My remote starter for Maxima failed to start in the winter because engine should be rotated longer time.
Is your starter has a timer - how long to work? Or you check RPM or any other ways to get direct info when engine is really started?
