Ummm....

So aggressive driving is ok? And driving 'very hard' on mountain roads is alright in your book??

Your words are hypocritical my friend. Plain and simple. At best you're splitting hairs on the definition of street racing.

Well, you were the one who raised the "small man's syndrome" stereotype. For me, when I see a younger chap driving an S-class or 7 series, I feel like he just wants to be a "big man" by driving a "big man's car." But just like I would never instigate something on the street, I wouldn't instigate on the forums either. So I left you to draw that conclusion rather than be rude.

I'm fairly certain no one here is condoning reckless driving, and you sure aren't in a position to judge and condemn based on the evidence in this thread. I don't doubt there are some drivers on this board who do drive dangerously, but you and I can't be responsible for their actions...just worry about your own. I for one know I've maintained a clean driving record, taken high performance driving classes, and when I REALLY want to push the car I do take it to the track.

If a soccer mom pulls up next to me in the van at the light and decides to floor it to beat me at the merge, is she engaging me in a street race? Some cars are built to accelerate faster than others, and from time to time when I consider the conditions to be safe, I like to remind myself why I bought the car.

and.. getting back on topic. I have this one I forgot (cuz it's a little longer)

I was just leaving work, minding my own business putting down the street as the engine was warming up. It was late and there was no one on the road except me and another car, which pulled up behind me at the light and stopped. He sat there for about 30 seconds and then, since no one was in the lane next to me, he then decided to "line up" in the right line at the light. Surely since he had stopped behind me, he looked at the badge, and decided to "give it a go." I did not acknowledge, I was not going to take off fast since my engine was still warming up. He took off fast ... I looked over .... "Cayman S" .... I listened.... "slushbox" ... I determined "not an enthusiast" ... I knew what was coming next. He wanted to beat me to the onramp to show me how much better his car was when the road curved. GAME ON. He took off fast from the next light. I did not. I caught him in braking into the onramp... he did enter the corner quite fast, so I knew he was trying, but I was as close as I could get without bumping him, all the way around the ramp. That one had me grinning for MILES.

Worth it!

I'm enjoying this thread, it's making me laugh and cry at the same time. You guys are talking about downshifting and blipping the throttle to get someones attention. My exhaust is so quite that if I redlined it while driving next to you and your windows were down, you might be like, 'hey what's that annoying sound? Is there a mosquito in my ear?'

Like the one post said...arguing on the internet is retarded, but I can't resist. The fact that Olijerk has enough time on is hands to preach says it all. The fact that he thinks it is entertaining says is just plain sad. Olijerk, young as you are I hope one day you find a better source of entertainment.

All that being said, I agree with your thoughts on 'wreckless street racing'. However your delivery was very poor and your assumptions about most of the folks on this thread are just ignorant.

wow, angry huh...

I'm probably as far from fat as you can get, and although sadly I do have a few gray hairs, they certainly aren't prevalent.

Viagra keeps people from passing out? I hope you aren't a pharmacist.

An S-Class is now a joke? Care to elaborate?

Oh, and maybe you can help me out on this, as I've always wondered:

Why would you list every car you've ever owned in your signature? I mean, are you under the impression that people care that you canceled the order for a Ml320?

Ok, fair enough, and certainly not a rare viewpoint. I'm ok with that. I know why I bought the car, and I don't care about the reasons other people think I bought the car (which Im sure you'll agree is how you feel about your vehicle).

Sadly, when I see 40 year old males revving at M3s and grinning for miles from beating some other guy in an impromptu test of acceleration, I tend to think "what a child". And now I'm actually curious, what happens if you get your clock cleaned by a Z06 or something similar? Does that make you upset?

While I don't necessarily agree with your opinion, I respect the manner in which you deliver it, so Cheers!

LOL. Agreed listing canceled cars is over-the-top. Then again, who cares about the light blue Ford Taurus I got from my grandma.

I agree. I love the fact that Oliver can do what he does with a totally straight face. We need more characters like him on this forum: provocative, reasonably intelligent, stubborn as hell, with good spelling to boot!

well I appreciate the compliments, so thanks!

At the end of the day, we're all on the same team and this site is just something to make the day go by a bit faster.

I, personally, just wanted the C63 AMG badge. I had that horrid 6.2 liter V8 removed from my car and had the two-stroke engine from my Poulan lawn trimmer put in instead. It is a much more sensible approach.

On a side note, can anyone recommend a new lawn trimmer? Mine is out of commission.

OK, you're right I misspoke (mis-typed). I meant that I downshift and maintain speed - so I guess I do have to push the gas a little. So I bring the rpm up to 4k or 5k, get the exhaust roaring, and this way I'm already in an appropriate gear if they bite.

Regarding the past 2 pages of post - like we used to say when I lived in a tourist town on the beach DON'T FEED THE SEAGULLS, or pigeons depending on locale, or in this case Forum Trolls. You just encourage them to crap all over the place.

I've seen plenty of E46 M3s, G35/37(my former fellow drivers), American muscles, ricers, H2 and other cars weaving in and out of the traffic(driving recklessly by Oliverk's definition) on the highway and then slow down just to get my attention. I laughed and thought "WTF?!"

My buddy used to drive a 350z and he liked to, lets just say "have fun" with other "enthusiasts" on the streets whenever he got a chance. This is the guy who races with a mustang GT on Williamsburg bridge. If you've been to WB bridge, you know what i'm talking about. He even picked on a F430 once when we were cruising. I always thought he had mild retardation, but now he drives like a grandma in his E92 M3.

I'd like a picture of your abdominal aorta and major abdominal vessels imaged using magnetic resonance angiography. No gadolinium, no care. Try to smile in that one. No dour expressions.
