It's also possible that guy just busted his *** working overtime to help buy his car, and he just doesn't want to abuse it.
I know if I were to pick up an F430, I'd probably baby it.
I know, I know...it goes counter-intuitive to why we bought the car in the first place, but the minute it's your own money potentially winding up in the gutter/guard rail, your perspective changes quickly...

I understand but just you know, thats not like I enjoy having fun on the road. The minute someone starts the wheeving in and out of cars game, I shut it down because even though you might have the confidence and skill to drive like that you never know what others on the road are thinking/abilities are. My situation would been a nice highway pull on a longggg straight distance with no traffic.

Here's the run with a stock CLK63 Black Series, really appreciate the runs J! We did two runs but the 1st one was botched on the start. I'm only posting the 2nd run, he got a slight jump before the last honk on this, but not too bad. Enjoy!

You mention 2nd gear but do you have an estimate for speed of the rolling start .
What was the elevation in Mexico during the roll?
Thanks for the vid,

I will see if I can make it! I think I remember you, I used to own the Supercharged E46 M3, I think you were there the day I hit 11.5 at 122mph?

I am not afraid to admit, I currently lease an E92 M3, and the car handles great- BUT I cant wait to get my new C63 that I should be picking up in the next few weeks...
I think that the M3 looks nicer, but after driving the C63- the looks is the last thing I am thinking about
If any of you are familiar with NY City- you should know that the commute from Staten Island to the Bronx via BQE(Brooklyn Queens Expressway) than on the FDR is a rough trip, and at the times I go- the manual transmission is not preferred...!!!!
Also going over potholes, and hitting bumps the C felt like much more of a car, the M3 feels like my world is rattling every pothole I hit
pics and videos to come

Yep you had a great day , suprised me . I ran 12.2@115 in the CLS. You had one of the , if not the fastest German car at Famoso.
Small world.

It's ironic that in this economy one can find great deals on the M3 and C63. I am thinking of upgrading my measly 335 when the lease expires this year and I can't figure out which one I want. Of course both sides brag about the merits of their chosen one but it seems to me the C63 is a beast in a straightline while the M3 rules the track (provided it has curves
).

ones too fast according to CHP!
I am a BMW guy, and the new M3 is hardly a track car. I would take the C63 over the M3.
Again, just so you know I have never owned a Mercedes and have owned 10+ BMW's (5 currently - e30 M3 racecar, e46 M3 racecar, e46 M3 Cab, MRoadster, X5)
thanks

LOL...I just "upgraded" from a an '07 PROcede v3 (tuned) 335i Coupe to an '09 MB C63 AMG (w/ Prem.2, Leather, Multimedia, iPod, & TeleAid). In just a few days, I've put on > 600mi. and loving it so far...yes, this thing is a complete BEAST!!!

Most of the comparisons I have seen show the M3 producing faster lap times, not by much but still ahead of the C63 while the opposite is true in a drag race.

Maybe stock to stock. But that has a lot to do with OE tires and alignments. With the same few mods on both cars, you can make a C63 KILL the M3. Heck, ECU alone on the C63 is 50+HP.
