Cars You Won't Race, And Cars You Will
That got me thinking that there are certain cars that are just a waste of time and will not provide good competition. And, of course, there are cars that will... so I thought it'd be fun to compile a list
. Based on my experiences... these are cars that have started something with me but, upon running them, I will not waste my time in the future.
- Jeep SRT-8
- Mustang GT
- WRX STI
- Evo
- SL 500
- BMW 750
- IS 350
- 1st Generation CTS-V
- 350Z
- SRT-4
- S4

On the flip side, here are a couple cars that provided good runs. This list is short because up here in Seattle it is hard to engage - people are weak up here.
- Porsche 911 Carrera
- 1967 Camaro w/ Corvette engine
- RS4
- M3
- M5
- Corvette
- Mustang GT500
- Any SRT-8 Sedan

No ZR1 please.
The solid axle isn't for everything, but for straight line acceleration, you can't beat it.

M3 with M-DCT is a small challenge but im pretty confident the C63 can beat it in any straight road, at any speed.
6-spd M3 is even slower.
I have some experience with a high horsepower solid axle car, and aside from overpowering the drag radials in first gear and sometimes second, the solid rear axle plants the power extremely well in almost every instance.
On the other hand add a Lamborghini Gallardo (not LP560) on the list. It gives a good run till about 5th gear then the C63 pulls ahead by 1/4 of a car legnth. btw that is a Rolling Start!

Yes, SRT8 with CAI, Cat-back, and tune should give a Stock C63 a good run, maybe even pull on it at highway speeds. SRT's are monsters on the freeways. I know this cuz I have one.
Think about it like this the C63 cant beat a SC 5.5 in the E55 and its bigger and heavier than the GT500. The 500 has more power and torque than either.
I'm turning 560 to the rear tire and 564 tq. About 650HP on motor with a Stage 2-3 setup. Evem with a stage1 intake and tune you can get about atleast 500RWHP out of it. As for the independent rear comment earlier the straight axle is better in drag cars any way how many real drag racecars run independent rear ends. That's for cornering and such and why I installed Steeda suspension on mine to help out when I hit a corner
