For the cost of the driving academy, I would rather spend the denaro on tune and engine mods.

The best performance upgrade possible is tightening the nut behind the wheel.

This is the first year it has been in the US and I have to say that the cost of the European trips mean the demographics of those people typically don't chat on these forums.

From the discussions on the PL (where that demographics does hang out a little) everyone has had a blast.

I am doing the Stage II at Laguna Seca. I did an AMG Challenge early 2008.

You can always spend $5000 on mods for one car, or spend that on driving / racing school and get better at driving ALL cars. That's my take.

It's a big difference in drivers. I went to willow springs with professional drivers and I felt stupid after. They really push the car to it's limits I had no idea AMGs could take that much of a beating. I would have never drove a car like that I thought we were going to crash on every turn.

I think safety is the #1 priority in any training. Since is not a competition is more important to know where is ones limits lies then our cars. Thanks for the input.

All C63 drivers would be automatically issued fatigues that read "Private Pyle" and repeatedly told to "choke yourself" at AMG Academy.

I did the AMG Challenge last year at Homestead/Miami. It was great fun and AMG/MB treated us like Kings. Tommy Kendell spoke and drove. First class, catered breakfast and lunch, awards, in -car camera DVD, AMG hats, shirts etc. That was $1200 +/- and I felt like it was a good experience. Not to mention doing South Beach that night. The Academy is a completely different price point. I can do 10 lapping days at Mid-Atlantic tracks for what it would cost me to do one day at the Academy. Would miss the omelet chef, but I'm just saying.......
