C63 AMG
tintig in AMGs
Hi all.
Just picked up my first AMG - C63 last friday. What a Great Car!
As i driving around these few days, i found the factory window tints is useless...people can see through my windows easily. not to mention i have a 9 month old bb, sitting at the back seat, i want max protection for my privacy and for my bb
but the sales from MB told me that they do not suggest customers to put on any aftermarket tints, cause it will damage the orignial factory tints (and she told me it is UV protected...true?)
i ask around, found out that i could acturally apply the tinting to the car, but if there is a actural film applied to the windows, they have to remove the film first, because two films can not be attched together. And it is quite a hard job to remove any tints, because once applied tints, they are not suppose to come off.
i dont know guys...have any of you get window tinted? any issues?
Thnx for any helps!!!

If you can find someone that carries this over there I highly recommend using it. It really works, it keeps the car cool even on hot summer days and it protects the interior.

the factory tints on the windows is normally a fine layer of tint 'in' the window.. therefore a second layer of aftermarket tint shouldn't damage the factory tinted windows. make sure you get them tinted well in melb mate.

FYI -- if you don't do aftermarket window tinting on any car in a warm, sunny climate like FL, AZ, CA, etc., then you will roast, your a/c will work extra-hard all the time, and your interior will fade; window tint is an absolute must in these areas. I would never drive a car without aftermarket window tint, and I've never heard or experienced that window tint will damage the mfgr's tint and/or windows.

The same can be said for some sort of windshield shade when you park the car. The simple spring-loaded ones are fine, and there are more elaborate, custom-fitted ones available. However, the rigid shades can be a PITA to store, particularly if you have a full car.

same thing here in texas its africa hot especially with a black interior. i installed huper optik tint which is ceramic, high heat rejection, wont mess with your cell reception and from the inside at night you cant really tell you have tint. downside its expensive and hard to install.
