2010 C63 AMG
1. Ridiculously expensive mods and lack of modding options, in general.

2. Completely useless glove box that doesn't fit the manual.

3. Pathetically thin rear tires.

4. Default to "C" mode and ESC "ON" at startup

I feel that the biggest mistakes MB has made are the:
1)door pins.
a) they look like crap, and b) i can't smoke a cigarette normally, nor put my hand on the window... (any recommendations on that? )
2)Ipod integration in the little glove box does NOT make sense, it should be in the armrest(my infiniti had that lol)
3) Folding mirrors
4) Back-up sensors
5) Wider tires...
6)Bigger tank
7) AMG Button!!!

Why does an M3 have one....
My friend has his set which turns off traction, lowers the suspension, and tightens it.

Anyway these issues are minor and the car itself has such an amazing ride that i close my eyes on these things...

but the door pins are just a joke!
Umm...Quit smoking? Ever tried that approach?

Ultra thin hood. I have two small dents because of lil acorn like fruit drop on it.

Reagrding the door pins. I'm working with a vendor to make the exact replica as the OEM AMG door pins with some minor changes to the look. Will update once I get them installed.

It will default to S mode if you turn it off in it or M mode defaults to S I believe. Does any car start with ESP off? I think it's a safety feature.

I hate the fact that I can't drive it as fast as I want, when I want.

Always looking over my shoulder...really hate that!!!

The only thing I can honestly say I hate is the ridiculously stupid ipod integration on my MY09.

Things I dislike:
1) Skinny rear tires
2) Mild rear-end styling (needs fender flares!)
3) No folding side-view mirrors (MY 09)
4) Smallish gas-tank
5) Bargain-bin door pins (replaced with aluminum AMG door pins :-)
6) Dated navigation system with poor graphics - the lack of detail on maps is very frustrating

2013 Nissan GT-R BE
My biggest beef will be the lack of 4Matic for the C63, and this is one of the biggest reason that I am thinking about getting a GT-R instead. I do think that the motorized LCD is a personal choice and not necessary a negative as I like it.

Things I don't like:

1) Too much vibration in dash
2) Skinny rear tires
3) Kind of ugly rear fender flares compared to the fronts (car looks incomplete)
4) Voice command is hit n' miss for Nav
5) Exterior paint quality/durability = so-so
6) Exhaust sound overall is annoying. JK

NOt specific to C63 (I think all MBs have it) but that bloody foot operated ebrake. Still cant get used to it. I still regularly drive off with it on. The problem is that on my other cars I have got so used to seeing the ebrake in the centre console/beside the drivers seat so you get a visual reminder it is on or off as you select D (or put it is 1st gear). On the Merc all there is that little red icon in the corner of one of the dials on the dash that I never seem to notice.

Very interesting thread. I love the car and don't hate anything about it, but here's what I would change if I could wave a magic wand (in random order):

- Wider rear tires and fender flares, and generally a bit more aggressive styling
- Put the transmission mode button on the steering wheel
- Faster shifts, especially in M mode
- S+ mode
- Larger gas tank
- Less harsh ride, but not at the expense of worsening handling (adjustable suspension could address this, but probably at significant extra cost)
- Larger digital speedometer display (I mean really big)
- Larger gear display (for M mode)
- Better premium sound system
- Add launch control
- Better gas mileage would be nice, but gotta pay to play
- Engine sound at high revs isn't as pleasant as a BMW (bracing for howls of disagreement ...)
- Reprogram to get the full power out of the engine
- Faster acceleration immediately off the line (ie, more immediate throttle response)

Most of these things have been mentioned by others, a few appear new from me, and some have been addressed in the 2012 coupe (though I think the current sedan looks better).

- Larger digital speedometer display (I mean really big) I would prefer a much larger tachometer.
- Larger gear display (for M mode) I agree
- Better premium sound system I come from a background (way back actually) of big, relatively expensive aftermarket sound systems (and I'm sure my hearing has paid the price) but the C63's system can make you go deaf on it's own and with very little harmonic distortion.
- Add launch control
- Better gas mileage would be nice, but gotta pay to play
- Engine sound at high revs isn't as pleasant as a BMW (bracing for howls of disagreement ...) Insert Quinton "Rampage" Jackson to disagree on my behalf.
- Reprogram to get the full power out of the engine P31?
- Faster acceleration immediately off the line (ie, more immediate throttle response) Seriously? Pretty sure this isn't the problem; rather skinny tires and too much low end torque coupled with excellent rpm pickup through the gearing seems to be the likely culprits.

Most of these things have been mentioned by others, a few appear new from me, and some have been addressed in the 2012 coupe (though I think the current sedan looks better).
My thoughs are in bold. You made a good list, so I wanted to responsd.

I agree that it gets loud, but the sound quality isn't as good as my previous MBs.
- Engine sound at high revs isn't as pleasant as a BMW (bracing for howls of disagreement ...) Insert Quinton "Rampage" Jackson to disagree on my behalf. I love the sound up to about 5k rpms, but it sounds a bit screamy to me above that.
- Reprogram to get the full power out of the engine P31? P31 would be nice (I don't have it ), but I'm thinking about how to get over 500 hp.
- Faster acceleration immediately off the line (ie, more immediate throttle response) Seriously? Pretty sure this isn't the problem; rather skinny tires and too much low end torque coupled with excellent rpm pickup through the gearing seems to be the likely culprits. Clearly great acceleration from 0-60 and while moving, but it feels like about a 0.5 s lag off the line. Could be the ESP cutting in.

AMG GLC63. Audi R8
I can live with all the above short comings except for those skinny rear tires and the detuned motor. MBZ should have flared out these fenders like the fronts and stuffed some 305 or 315 under the back end and given the car the 500hp plus the other 63 motors have.

After 1 month ownership:

1. Squealing brakes.
2. Slow 1-2 shift in M mode, feels artificial
3. Rear diffuser that acts like a vacuum cleaner and can dirty your car within 1 mile of driving.

That's pretty much it, very very happy with my new car!

Yup, these would be my top picks also. They had the right idea with the CLK63 BS: http://www.mercedes-amg.com/webspeci...63blackseries/

^^^ Agreed...

My only other two gripes:

1. The shift knob is wayyy too far forward at rest, when the car is in park (P). I have to literally hunch forward when shifting the car from park (P) into reverse (R) or drive (D) mode. No, I'm not short. I wear 36" sleeved shirts, lol...

2. The gear lever is a bit too small/thin. It needs to have the AMG badge on the gear selector knob...
