I've seen one dyno so far that showed a nice gain in the middle of the powerband but other members have stated that there is no gain to be had with ROW air boxes.
So, I really don't know. I'm curious about them though.

I'm a bit of a skeptic when it comes to the need for aftermarket filters or airboxes but when you hold up the two tops side by side it's obvious that the ROW airbox is less restrictive. IMO it's the kind of difference that I wouldn't expect to show up on the dyno though...I think you'd have to be at speed for it to produce more power. That said, it does seem to me like a no-brainer mod with headers.

The way I view this topic is that the ROW airbox tops are manufactured by MB and they are used in the non U.S. E63, which makes a lot more power than the C63. They have to flow more air, otherwise, why make the U.S. airbox tops more restrictive?
There should be an increase in airflow, especially at higher speeds.

I agree with you.

It has nothing to do with it bc ROW boxes are used in non-US C63s. That's tune and 1/4th bigger exhaust. But it's obvious looking at them that it can't hurt and it wouldn't show on a dyno with a shop fan.

The more I think about it, I agree with you and others that have said, the ROW boxes shouldn't show a gain on the dyno. But, on the street, in real driving conditions, I think it's reasonable to expect a gain.
