MBH Mid Pipes and Cross Member Now Available

I'm happy to be able to officially announce the release of the MBH Motorsports C63 mid section and cross member. This mid-section will now allow the MBH long tube headers to be a 100% bolt-on system.

Specs:
304 US stainless steel
100% TIG welded
3" inch mid pipes
Slip fit ends
Modular secondary cat delete pipes
*Available secondary cats
*Available X-pipe
*Available primary cats
Clamps supplied (not shown)

We decided to add a custom made cross member. All systems I've seen delete this part. We felt, if Mercedes didn't think it should be there... They wouldn't have put one there? So we wanted go the extra mile and make a cross member that will install to the factory locations. The cross members is made out of 6061 aircraft grade aluminum.

For people wondering if it hangs low... The answer is No. It hang no lower than the factory system's secondary cats.

For what I feel is the best tuning option for this system is. I would contact Dyno-Comp directly. However any good tuner for the C63 should be able to develop a tune to this system. As for right now I strictly deal with hardware

Great job.
Will this work if you still have the stock exhaust manifold or do you need the LTH's?

With a quality welder, you can make anything work. However it will only bolt-up to our LTH's

It is not a cheap solution for a tune but one option is to go RENNtech. My car was tuned at Dyno-Comp at Scottsdale, AZ when the MBH headers were installed. Dyno-Comp houses the West Coast headquarters for RENNtech. You will benefit (greatly) from the many dyno runs done on my car during the custom tuning sessions if you go the RENNtech route as the guys really nailed it...but there are other tunes that will work with these headers.

Looks good, MBH!

Does the cross member get welded to the mids once they're installed, or do the pipes just rest on it? If the latter, any resonance issues?

That looks fantastic.

Great work.

This kit goes back to the stock resonator?

Can it be ordered with cats instead? Actually, I'm interested in both, with
cats and without. Cats for street use and catless for the track.

Thank you. Its a good feeling to be able to bring something worthy of these amazing cars to the table. It's an even better feeling when you get compliments for doing some hard work

The cross member just bolts in to the stock location, just in front of the resonator.

Yes, right back to the stock resonator.
We offer this kit with the following"
primary cats
secondary cats
primary and secondary cats (all 4)
No cats (off road)
xpipe
Hpipe

Really any combo of the above can be made. So if you want no cats and an xpipe that can be done. Or primary cats and an Hpipe we can do that. Or no cats and an xpipe... Really any combo of the above parts can be made. other than things that contradict other parts locations. So no xpipe and Hpipe at the same time LOL.

What I'm looking for is everything in the following picture plus
a way of unbolting this setup and putting primary cats instead
for street use.

If this can be done can you shoot me a PM on the cost?

Looks great.

Since this system is built to order, based on the customers needs and wants. I can do that. . I'll crunch the numbers and shoot you a PM.

Beautiful setup! I would be pretty much sold if there was a good solution keep the sound levels down. Is there anything we can do about this while eliminating all the cats. Would an X-pipe coupled with some long tubular resonators do the trick? My current setup with secondary cat delete is perfect so I would like to keep the noise levels around there for example.

Thank you,
Anthony

In all of my test drives, there was only excess noise from the exhaust when you get on it. Its really sublime around town, You can have a conversation, listen to the stereo, talk on the phone, without being over powered by exhaust notes.

However I have some micro straight through resonators we used to calm down an SLK55. They work great and dont give up performance.

Getting my MBH bolt-on headers installed on Thursday!!!!! Question...although I'm keeping my high-flow secondary cats in place, I know the headers eliminate the primary cats; so, I was wondering if I'm going to see a lot more black smoke and exhaust gases muck up my shiny chrome AMG exhaust tips? A friend of mine has a modded GT-R with a full catless exhaust and his exhaust tips are always black.

Thank for the response.

That's great news! I will be in contact soon to place an order. When you have a moment, can you please PM me a price for a setup with an X-pipe, no cats, and resonators?

Thank you,
Anthony
