C63 AMG Black Series spy shots
Not sure what to make of this, but I do like the flared wheel arches. Maybe the C will finally get decent rubber!

This set of spy photos landed in our inbox showing what appears to be a modified version of the giant-slaying Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG prepping for testing. Our spies indicate that this could be a high-powered Black Series version of the M3-killing C-Class, rumored to have around 510 horsepower. You know, because the standard 451-hp C63 just isn't sweet enough.
We know that the next-generation C-Class is due to arrive within the next couple of years (before the facelifted version arrives in 2011), so perhaps this is a sort of last hurrah for the top-dog C63. We can clearly see the tacked-on wider fender flares and front wheels similar to those that debuted on the CLK Black Series a few years back, and our spies suggest that a larger front spoiler and new rear diffuser will be added, as well. Power will still come from the same 6.2-liter V8 currently found in the C63, mated to a seven-speed AMG Speedshift transmission.
We're still a bit skeptical as to whether or not this is actually a full-on Black Series treatment. All we know is, we certainly wouldn't kick a 510-hp C63 AMG out of bed.

The SLS started out as a Viper body prototype. I wouldn't be surprised that they might be doing drivetrain testing for a C coupe black series underneath without having to reveal what the C coupe looks like. AMG said black series will always be 2 doors 2 seaters.
Of course if they did do a Black Series C63, I'd be all over it. Stranger things have happened.

C63
Considering the extremely poor quality of those flares I cannot imagine that this is an MB/AMG effort. Am I the only one that thinks this car looks like someone's in-flight project car?
I'm not knocking the car...just questioning what it actually represents.

Out Of Control!
Other than the SL65 Black Series i need something 2-door that's also a Black Series.
Is MB going to come out with a 2-Door C-Coupe Black Series with the new V8 BiTurbo engine? If so when!?

NICE!
Wow, I believe those are EURO plates, most likely German and if I continue my current line of thought on that, then I know it is illegal to drive a car on German roads where the wheels exceed the wheel arches therefore, the aluminium temporary flares to make it road legal for road testing. Hasn't anyone else noticed the wider rear axle!! with E63 19inch wheels. Plus as somemone pointed out the bigger cool looking front brakes with black AMG branded calipers also on a wider front axle?!. I believe they are testing the handling with the new/updated chassis, axle, brakes, engine and possibly transmission. Also it has 4 doors!!! I'm sure we shall see the real bodykit later, once they've sorted the engineering side.

Sorry to say...but i think you guys are smokin too much of the devils lettuce if you think that AMG Engineers would pop rivet some aluminum on the side of a plated street car to mock up a black series......
And i dont know how you can come to the conclusion that there are wider axles on the car, when there are wheels on the axles....all you see is wider offset wheels....where do you see wider axles???
I would want a C63 BS as much as anyone else, but lets give our AMG engineers a little more credit than this......this is a pic of a car, outside a bodyshop, that works on benzs.....
The rockers are off the car too....making most of us conclude that this is just some random dudes car getting ready for a body kit and wider wheels.....
i'm not trying to critique anyone's post here....just doing some deductive reasoning with the limited info we have

A few more pics has emerged. I agree this looks a bit aftermarket but can someone explain why an enthusiast would go with CLK BS front wheels and E63 rears? Buying these two sets would probably set you back more than a pair of HRE's.
