But that's exactly it....it you're coming on strong in Third, you already got walked through the first 2 gears out of the hole, and need to make it up before you can throw on the hazards in victory in a street race...

Totally agree that if you're cars starting in the power band in third, you would give it to them, but that's more of a high-way run than a street race (not that i condone it / just participate in it )

wish we could slap a blower on a C63...we'll just have to wait for some twin turbos (fingers crossed)

Whipple 2.3L is actually the way to go.

The 1st and 2nd is only on street tires. Slap some DR's and the problem is gone.

Now lets get down to it though...

German engineering... 451 bhp C63 edges out a 540 bhp GT500 in the 1/4. Neither car hooks well through first and second on streets.

Tune the C63 to what the GT500 is running stock (540 bhp) and the GT500 gets spanked. Slick on both cars.

Turn up the PSI however and the blown GT500 wins in the end... even if you do headers and a few other mods.

The point is, bringing the C63 up to the same HP that the stock GT500 is running and Z-Germans win.

Well see what cams do to the C63 however... HURRY YO A$$ UP DADS! lol

I am thinking of porting the stock supercharger and getting a bigger TB and full boltons. I saw guys get mid to low 10s with this setup . Off course with pro driving.
If i didn't like it i will get this http://www.evoperform.com/shop/index...roducts_id=864

05 ML-500 , 03 CLK5.5 AMG has left the Garage
CLK5.5 AMG / Klee /PTE eats up a Camaro S.S.

Well I was coming of a I-95 launch ramp here in FLA. and I noticed a Black Camaro SS on my A$$. I gently pulled out , set the trans mode to S. I knew there was a really nice straight just west of here. as soon as I cleared the Curves I look in the mirror only to see this Camaro try to pull a running fly by ,. His front end jumped up pretty hard !! I was was only at 40 MPH ,So I eased into the throttle, He got up to my rear bumper. and I held him there until about 135. Then I started to pull away , I put about 3 cars on the Camaro. Then had to let out , Cross roads & a Stop sign. He pulled up beside me Gave a thumbs ups. Went right & I went left . Man my heart was about to jump out of my Chest!!!

I saw him at a car show about a month later. We both had our cars there on Display. He stopped by with his buddies , To them about our impromptu Run west of town , and said beware of my car. He was really Kool. I went over to look at his nicely modded Camaro. He had Headers , Exhaust and a 2 large power adder bottles mounted on the rear deck. These Camaro's are not unstopable , but don't be fooled
Cheers _PTEngineering

Careful out there...
You are not putting on winter tires/wheels? Two weeks ago when it was around 20 degrees mine would go sideways on dry road even at 60mph... Now it is much better as I put on winter wheels, but grip is not as good as on summer tires when it is warm.

Probably not. Ill drive in the cold but not in the snow or chance of snow in my C63.

100% yes! But only at night with no one on the road. After a heavy snow, while the guys in my neighborhood take out their quads and snow mobiles I pull out the STI. LOL

With 4 wheel snow tires and the dccd to full lock it can tear up the snow pretty bad, but just like everything else on the road stopping is always the problem! lol

Normally I take out my 2009 Buick Enclave.

Not going to happen. Brabus already tried on a ML for someone in the Mideast and from what I read, it had issues. Plus, there is more room in the ML than our cramped engine compartment.

I personally think a SC would be a much more realistic option vs. turbo(s)

Maybe top mount twin screw...

The biggest hurdle will be the transmission. As it stands now, the torque limits are not very high.

Too bad too. Because, like I've been told, our relatively high compression engines could handle some low boost and make some good power.

IDK who can say that a stock GT500 vs a tuned C63 the GT500 gets spanked. I ran some dude's 2010 GT500( he claimed he was 100% stock). Bottom line is we were dead even up until 130 when I was slightly very slightly starting to pull but that was about it. I would assume that heavily modded with bolt ons the mustang would pull a buses on a C63 for less than what a long tube header set up costs for our cars.

And about the Camaro SS... They are pigs.

A stock GT500 is not beating a tuned C63 unless the tune is *****. MotorTrend has the stock 2010 GT500 doing the 1/4 in 12.7. No way side by side to a tuned C63.

The dude you ran definitely was not stock.

Stock SS is a pig that is true. But its cheap and with very little work can run even with a stock C63 for about 30K less.

It still feels like your driving a huge HOOD! Every time I am in one I feel like I need to jack my seat up just so I can see over that freaking HOOD! However, I have to give it to GM for stepping up their int build quality.

This test of the GT500 is far more realistic of what you would expect to see on the track/streets...they are 11sec cars stock...period. Drag radials make it a mid 11sec car..

Nevermind the vbox data from the other car mags, this is actual dragstrip data from Englishtown

This is a 2010, The 2011 is 102 pounds lighter. With slicks u can get 11.3 as i posted a video post #23

Yes,I agree with you 100%. I was just referencing that the "slower" of the GT500's is still quicker than the C63...I was saving the 2011 being even faster argument for the doubters

Look were all AMG fans, but, believe it or not there actually are faster/less expensive cars that can(imagine that!)beat a 63

so this is the part of the thread where everybody chimes in with the "BUT its a rustang...its cheap interior is appalling,id rather walk then own a ford blah blah blah"...

Not 1 stock 2010 GT500 on dragtimes is in the 11's. I find that test to be different from every other result that Ive seen. In that case you dont just pick the best result, you average them out and the 2010 GT500 is tested by numerous magazines and people at about 12.3 - 12.7 in almost every run.

A stock 2010 GT500 is most certainly not running mid 11's on DR's without turning up the boost.

great story but i sure wouldnt post stuff like that. If you ever have a wreck, even where you are not at fault, you may feel real silly sitting up on the witness stand when the attorney pulls out some sheets and asks if you wrote this.

that happened to me a couple years ago and i didnt even have a cool story like yours!
