Wow that should really help, i have 305 tyres on back and even that is probably not enough. A c63 with 265s on the back would definately struggle to put the power down and make getting an SC almost a waste of time.

Wiestec would offer a package deal with a wheel manufacturer in i was the Business Development manager!

It was either go for the widebody kit or install a Cobra CB radio and half-wave whip antennae. Peter wanted to go for the CB Radio but James talked him into the widebody.

In reality, both my Porsches take 315s. Maybe I can start getting quantity discounts.

Me too! Hopefully it looks like this: http://www.zercustoms.com/news/RENNt...-Widebody.html

July is drivetrain upgrades. August is cosmetics, bling and ICE.

Right now the plan is for the car to be in the bodyshop Sept/Oct and come out in time for SEMA and CES.

After SEMA, back in for more drivetrain experiments.

Well, we have started the car today. Still on stock headers and exhaust and stage 1 supercharger setup. The car needs to run for a little bit and then it will go to the dyno again.

No, not at all what im implying.. We actually have an owner and a shop here in the states doing a good build and updating this community just about daily with some good hard facts,, just wondering what's up that's all nit implying any thing is wrong or anything in the other thread the car was outside ready to go to the dyno on wens.. Just a question of if it was delayed or id it's done... Not everything is negative,

I'm sorry I eat breath sleep to make this car faster.. My mind goes 24/7 between business and car.. Ask anyone that knows me I'm into getting this car as fast as possible, as right now I want to see results passed stage one? That's all I have a passion for this..

There is really not much to post. The car is being tuned on the dyno and the street. Weistec is revising the software to accommodate stage 1 supercharger + heads combo. Every time we have to update the software we have to pull out the ecu, open it and flash it; therefore, the process will take some time. As soon as we have the official numbers to report, we will.

Meanwhile all the other parts are coming in. I'll start posting more pictures next week.

I drove it back from the dyno yesterday. There's room for improvement on the AFR graph. While it is noticeably more powerful, I personally think there is 40-50 horsepower more we can get out of it with improved fuel and timing maps. We can get on the dyno for more data logging tomorrow or Monday. There may be 1 more s/w upload then. At that point I think we will publish graphs. Then its on to adding headers and exhaust upgrades to let it open up. That will allow us to go even more boost and there will likely be another 2-5 days of iterative changes with more graphs published.

Right now, its on its second s/w load but that load hasn't been data logged.

In other news, my 996TT engine build is done and its running pretty well. It goes on the all-wheel dyno on Monday and we will log data for it and have an iterative release from Softronics to finetune that one also.

By Wednesday I will again have 1 Porsche and 2 Mercedes in getting mods done. I iwsh I had more time to do them myself.

News when we know more.

Yes, they have them done but since I bought all available upgrades all at once for the car, I'm doing things out of order and their software is built in stages and I broke the rules.

I bought the Weistec kit. They sent software and pullies for Stage 1. But I also bought and installed the ported heads which mechanically make sense to install first so you don't have to deinstall the supercharger chassis to put heads in later.

No one ever thought some moron (that would be me) would buy all of everything all at once and install the parts in this order. So they are sneaking up on the programming conservatively once they have data.

Most normal people would do mods in the following order.

First cat back then headers. Then a supercharger. Then more boost, then possibly ported heads.

I just bought all of it at once and refused to put the parts on in the order they wanted because I think its dumb to pull the unit off to go back and do heads.

So, they suffer me.

I've gotten a feel labeled as a weistec hater non beloved, which I'm not. I just wanna be fast and see good improvements, cause honestly I "at this point" have the coin to be a pioner in this mod.. And I'm appreciative for the guys who are stepping up and getting the "bugs" out or whatever you want to say is/might be going on.. Thanks guys...

It pulled 464 at the wheels. Thats about 50 below expectations and the AFRs vary from lean to rich and back to lean at high RPM. So data logging was done and they are adjusting for the combination of Stage 1 PLUS ported heads. James has a new software load. I'm not certain its in the car or not. He said he could get back onto the dyno in the morning. He is using one that is different than the one we used first because it has inputs for boost and some other stuff but isn't a dynojet. Its something else. I don't know what it is and don't much care. I assume it will eventually get worked out.

We will get 600AWHP I'm certain and we might pour a tank of race gas in it and see if we can hit 700 next week. Fun stuff.

Did you get an IPD plenum and throttle body for the build.

Yep, got them both and the 3" intake tubing set from Speedtech. No problems at all with the IPD plenum or throttle body. The tubing on the other hand took some modification. The mounting points weren't exact and the fitment on my car to some other components caused some clearance issues of various types. I had to remove a crash bracket from the transmission and I had to do extensive surgery (more of an amputation) on my stock air box to be able to get the filter set as the tubing interferes and pushes the air box back too far.

But if you are handy mechanically and not in a rush, its not all that hard to figure out.

Excellent, I am very good friends with the maker of those products and seen his dedication first hand from numerous dyno sessions to the actual making of the plenums in the past 5-7 years. Right now he is making turbo heat shield/wraps for the TT cars and the results are great, faster spool up I mean fast compared to stock.

Back to the Mercedes...

James tells me the issues identified in the first dyne run seemed to be fixed. I have no details about the specifics but James tells me we're going dynoing again on Monday.

Good luck Jim. I have no doubt you'll hit the magic 500whp as is, and then on to 600+whp once you pull off that choking stock exhaust. I also know James, Peter, and the Weistec crew won't stop until everything is running perfectly.
