Not another gas mileage thread...

Guys, i've read and googled gas mileage about the car but i have found numerous different answers..

I need definitive answers.

Factors for me, I will be doing strictly CITY driving.

Can you guys post what you have been getting in the city?

Right now in the e46M i get about 180 miles to a tank of gas, but i hammer it alot, so that's why...

Is it even remotely possible to get 180 out of the C in the city with moderate driving?

Are you kidding me with this thread? Obviously it depends on how you drive. I think dealer specs state 12mpg...If I remember correctly our gas tank is 17.5gallons. If I hammer it I get about 8-9mpg. Do the math.

Cars.
You're buying a car that's 70k+ and you're worried about gas? The C63 AMG is not for you.

Wanna know why? Because there's so many ways you can get this information. Dealer, online, or search the forums. And like I said dealer states 12, so unless you drive like a granny you won't get 12.

Quick search on the forums I got these
https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...as-milage.html

https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...s-mileage.html

Don't blame ppl for their smart *** replies. If a little work was done on your end I doubt you would have received those responses.

Your reference on 180miles per tank is very very subjective. How much fuel does it hold? 50 galons? 10 galons? 25 galons? you see?
How do you drive? lightly, heavily? I am not trying to be sarcastic but I am bringing you reality.

Lets move on to the real topic, gas mileage on city. I am also a gas mileage freak and I am like you. I got up to 17 MPG city driving on C mode. I normally drive on C mode 99% unless I am racing someone which I switch to Sport Mode.

You should get comfortably 15-16 mpg in town if you drive on C mode and light on the gas. This is a topic that I created:

Benz gets about 10-15mpg in the city, depending on how you drive. If you have a heavy foot, mileage will be closer to 10mpg, otherwise closer to 15mpg.

Get an Acura or Toyota if you are concerned about gas mileage.

Sport starts off in 1st vs Comfort starts off in 2nd. So yes, this does make a difference in gas mileage. Gas mileage is not a strong suite of this car and if it's in your top 10, I'd recommend looking at other cars that perform well but get better fuel economy.

I had a E46 M3, holds 16.4 gallons. He must REALLY be lead footing it since that means about 9mpg, in a car I would regularly get 28mpg on the interstate. I would usually see at least 14-16mpg in a E46 around town. So, based on his apparent driving style, he'll probably get 5-6mpg around town.

I cant get over the fact that for 32€ I would have a full tank if I lived in U.S. It pisses me off quite a lot, especially every other day when I have to put 140$ in the tank

My drive was almost 80 percent in the city. Always on S or M. I used to get 180 miles with one tank. So you can do the math after this.

8-9 mpg, that's some serious driving.

I get 12-14 around town.

My trip computer (understanding it may not be the most accurate):
last 6 months - 3211 miles, 32 mph avg, 15.8 mpg (I love WOT and M mode)
today - 56 miles, 29 mph avg, 17.1 mpg (mostly in C mode)
