Weistec M156/M159 Oil / Air Separator
The upper bolt is clearly an allen key while I am not sure on what the lower one is.
I know how tight that area is on my car so just wondering what tools are needed.
Thanks

It is easy to see why this is over $500. The engineering and build quality is faultless.
It is also easy to see how it installs with all the pieces infront of you.
Can't wait to get this on the car and see what happens
Thanks
I havent perfomed it yet but now that Weistec has shown the throttle body it would be beneficial to spray the intake(engine running and someone helping keep it revved up) with throttle body cleaner then install this beautiful well made piece. This will clean the manifold runners and any film at the intake valve.
The price for this machined piece with the fittings and pieces as shown is well worth it. Especially since they have done the homework to figure out and measure what is required to install this system.
Of course it has to be emptied about every 3-5k miles.
I installed the oil / air separator today into my ML63.
This is a complete pain the *** job on an ML, as this does not fit like in a C63. The back of the motor has panelling draped over the top of it.
So what I did was get some extra long line from a high pressure hose specialist, and run it to the front of the engine bay (this is the only spot I can see that can be utilised in an ML)
Was nearly a 3 hr install as I have a Renntech intake and this had to come off (means stripping the rear panelling)
I have to say that this thing works!
Its a 32 C day here and really humid (about 90 F) and I can only make the car ping if im really trying, like full throttle up a hill in first. This is a massive improvement on before as it would ping easily around 4000 rpm.
For some reason the throttle is sharper and the exhaust seems deeper? Dont know if the timing is now back in check? No idea. I'm still going for another carbon clean shortly and since I now have this separator, shouldnt have to do it again.
Very happy with it, except for the install which I basically arranged myself. Weistec need to let people with ML's know this isn't straight forward.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I had to modify the black mount that screws onto the separator as well.
I play around with cars alot so it's no big deal.
It's going to the dealership on Friday for some new rear shocks to be fitted and a service. Be interesting to see if they say anything

Thumbs up to Weistec for a well made piece.
Install may have to wait until next week, after the holidays.
Thanks,
Mike

it kind of looks like the bottom part screws off... is that where the oil goes? and you empty it out and screw it back in?
is this done every oil change?
and someone suggested spraying something and cleaning the intake during the first install... is this recommended by weistec?
