Guys, I was reading the official AMG site and notice that for the MY2012, MB listed the LSD as only 30% locking. If I remember correctly, prior to MY2012, the official LSD is 40% locking right? Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

I would think it would be difficult to argue with the facts available on the website, considering MY2012 is still early in its production cycle.

MB/AMG claimed the new suspension setup and, I believe, rear end are better tuned and stronger than the preceeding MY's, so I would be interested to learn why they opted for less percentage of lock?

Good to know, so do you guys think the reduction of lock from 40% to 30% has something to do with the AMG suspensions adding back into the car?

Sheep,

I just went from a 2011 lsd to the 2012 lsd and actually the 2012 feels more planted to me. it may be because my tires were warn out on my 2011 and my 2012 has fresh rubber but im interested in the answer to this quandary

Didn't Mercedes also make suspension changes too in 2012? I know they did on the coupe base on their website and reviews. That could be what you are feeling as well.

Yes, and I guess this is the reason to decrease the locking ratio but there is no way for me to be sure.

Suspension was changed between 09 and 10(mid year) when the PP changed from 030 to 031. The p30 had VERY stiff springs and included the LSD, 2pc front rotors, bump to 174 mph and alcantra steering wheel
