Neighbor left a note on my windshield...
I found this note on my windshield today.
"hello, I was awoken at 4am ish when you started your car. I asked my downstairs neighbors and they said the same and suggested I leave you a note. If at all possible could you start up quiter? We're both in building #19 (where you back into) and even during the day our dogs go crazy because it's so loud (doors and windows closed). If that's just the way your car is, possibly turning the mufflers (parking normal) other way might elevate some ear pressure. Just a suggestion from a friendly noise sensitive neighbor. Thanks".
I'm not sure Parking the other way will help. It'll just point my mufflers at the building I live in. The sound will just bounce of my building and back at the other one. Anyone else get complaints?

I'd be cautious. People are crazy in the world today. You never know what they are capable of or what they will do.
Your car is parked outside?

who doesn't want to be waken up by a c63??you can be my neigbor.
seriously people should stick to there own business, telling your neigbor that his car is to loud is a bit selfish(my opinion). Tell them that they are the problem themselfs, if your really tired you won't get woken up by a car
I hate it when people are sticking there noses in my busines, I hope you can deal with it in a nice way.

I actually think the neighbor is being polite and is well within their right to complain.
Dont get me wrong, I think a 63 with LT's sounds uber sexy....but no one could argue that it isn't loud...correct that...LOUD!
Add in the fact that they would have a legal foot to stand on (surely your car is loud enough on cold start to break noise laws) and you may be forced to make a change in car or residence.
Just ask AMG fan, I believ his neighbors forced him to have to park his E55 in a storage facility due to excessive exhaust noise in his complex.
Sucks, but getting to be a fact of life.

I agree with Worth the wait, your best bet would be to try and park the other way and minimize any sound you make while driving. Show you're at least trying and that may make them less likely to pursue further action. If you exhaust was stock I'd say don't worry about it, but since it's catless they do have some leverage.

Believe me, I'm not trying to attract any unnecessary attention. My lease is up in February and I was planning on moving to a different complex anyway. There just really isn't much I can do right now to reduce the noise level with my current set up. I'll try parking in a different area and hopefully they'll see I'm trying to do what I can. I live in a ritzy community so the management takes complaints seriously. I don't want it to get to that point.

I have a annoying neighbor few blocks down. Well not really my neighbor. Anyway he knows where I live. Sometimes I would not even WOT past my street(40mph on a 30mph zone). This guy would walk to my house and complain nicely. Also my neighbor across the street came over and *****ed about it. He tells me his wife *****es about my car. BTW I only have a tune. Imagine if I had LTs

Your neighbor is being as polite as he possibly can about it.
Maybe noise doesn't bother you but imagine if it was something else that did? We all have to live together after all.
This is the cost of having a loud-a$$ car and living in a condo complex. You are right that you can't really do anything about it... hopefully you enjoy it enough when you are on the road that it makes up for coming home and dealing with the haters.
Rest assured if you don't take the hint and either move you or the vehicle it will get worse one way or another.

My neighbour (2 houses over) loves the sound so much that when he learned of the impending delivery of the BS he asked to buy my car. I arranged to sell it him on the day the new one arrives in March. That should make for some interesting mornings when we both head out at 5 am for our Track days>>>

Do you warm it up at all? Don't since you're getting rid of it anyway. When I had my big turbo Evo cammed w straightpipe at the condominium I'm sure it woke everyone including the dead at the cemetery by the premises. I just rolled out right away while I reaally should've let it warm up, ill admit I felt real bad for others sleeping. I say start it and leave right away, does it get quiter when put in gear?
When one neighbor started his POS loud Harley at 630am almost on a daily basis and let it sit and warm up I wanted to come outside and smash his head in, just saying.
Good luck!

I think your neighbor dealt with it very well. If someone had a loud dog that was barking every morning and waking you up, it would annoy you too. I find it funny that some people would say f the neighbor... bet if someone was annoying them they would have a different opinion. Just because we love the sound, doesn't mean many won't be very annoyed... and rightfully so. I would do what I could to be as considerate as possible given how politely he approached you.

No offense meant, but those of you with loud exhaust mods really are annoying as all hell. The neighbors complaining are in the right and you are in the wrong. Just wanted to put that out there, not trying to start an argument.
