Finalized my order last night.

One of 3 Magno Alanite Grey BS cars to hit the US soil. Only thing I was bummed about was that I couldn't get exterior carbon, and no leather seats. I opted to get the rear seats. Also oddly enough you can't get the lane tracking package on the c63bs.

The Options I got were the Black Matte Wheels, AMG Media Computer, Rear Seat.

Congrats, I know you will enjoy the car!

I would note that the price reflected in your order is substantially lower than the MSRP for the Black Series. Unless you own the dealership, I think it is probably a typo. Most dealers cannot order this car by using the normal computer software provided by Mercedes. My dealer had to confirm the entire order the old fashion way (i.e. by phone).

 

wow.... seems like people are still able to confirm an allocation of the C63 BS in the States...

One question though, if you're looking at a BS, why not look at the Carrera S also? It's faster around a track and it's cheaper.

Only 2 kinds of people care about laptimes. Race car drivers, and kids.

As for cheaper, try adding some basic options to the Carrera S and see what happens.

 

Yes if you notice the P98 option, it says price not on file, so that doesn't get added in till the msrp is printed or in a few months since its a very early order.... Hence the current price is showing substantially low. The dealer ordering guide has the price at:

It wasn't easy to get the car, its been confirmed that only 26 production C63 BS cars are coming to the US in 2012, which is currently the only year they have stated they would offer the car.

How come no exterior CF?

 

Im still pretty curious about no exterior CF myself, they just were not able to add it -- but then they could add in aero, and still no CF, they were told by someone high up, that they are out of them.... however someone in California has the exact same build as I do, WITH Ext CF, which I am pretty ticked off about. But oh well, the parts that are not CF are painted Piano Black from the factory, which I think will look great with the Matte Silver Finish.

 

Cool. The reason I asked is that when I put down my deposit my salesman commented that the delivery date could move back if they ran out of CF parts. I am wondering if that is the case. If it is not too late I am thinking of getting the matte silver as well instead of diamond white. Looks really nice.

 

That's an interesting tidbit. All my AMG sources keeps telling me 70'ish for US, and 30'ish for Canada, total of 100 for North America.

 

Looks like all the CF got allocated to Canada. Our base BS comes with 773 CF and 255 AMG Performance Media standard.

Yup, just confirmed with another dealer that exterior CF isn't available. Kinda a bummer and deal breaker... :-(

Yeah, I think an open letter to MB is in order. For such a high end car, I think its unacceptable to not have CF on the car, moreover, its unacceptable to tell people who are buying a limited car, that they cannot get CF because "they ran out"

 

For those who have been informed about the lack of the exterior carbon fiber package, could you indicate when your orders were finalized?

My dealer just confirmed my build date for the 3rd week of February, and I was not told that my CF option would not be on the car. My allocation was reserved the middle of last month. It is possible that Mercedes underestimated the demand for this option and later orders were adversely affected.

 

Was a June build, July delivery. Friend has 1st batch on order - March/April delivery, seem to be unaffected...

 

Mine was just Finalized. But they have been telling me since before the new year that I could not get carbon. . . .

I have written a letter to the CEO of MBUSA (Stephen Cannon) stating my dissapointment with the inability to order the exterior carbon fiber package, will let you know what I hear back.

After writing a letter to the CEO of MBUSA. I basically told them, their supply chain issues are not my problem, if they ran out of carbon, I expect them to press more and get my car built the way I want it to delivered. 2 weeks later I was called by MBUSA and told that they were going to add Exterior Carbon Fiber to my car. So I guess it worked.
