Ordered My 2012 C63 AMG Sedan!
The dealer offered me a bunch of protection packages which Ive declined, but the windshield protection program called "Diamon-Fusion" caught my eye as it provides free chip repair and will replace the windshield if a crack develops. Has anyone gone with this windshield protection package before? If so, are there any catches or caveats to get a windshield replaced? Ive read stories about claims being denied because chips were not reported within two days etc. Its definitely not cheap at $1125 for 5 years and a $100 deductable for a replacement, but it includes up to 3 replacements or up to $4000 worth of replacements and labour. In Calgary, we get our roads sanded with gravel from the fall to the spring and its easy to collect a lot of rock chips. My C350 has been lucky as I only had to fill one chip in from a big rock on the highway. Any insight is appreciated!!
I would check with your insurance agent regarding your comprehensive coverage. In US, a broken windshield is covered under comprehensive portion of the insurance and you only pay the deductible to replace the glass. if a stone hit the glass and you want to "seal" the chip area/small crack instead of getting a new windshield glass replaced, some insurance company will waive the deductible. In short, this coverage offered by your dealer is pretty useless in US. Even if your insurance in Canada does not cover windshield problem, you probably want to check how much it cost to replace the windshield. I have a windshield replaced in my Honda a few year back (because the crack is getting to big to "seal"), it only about about $450 part and labor to replace it with a OEM windshield.. So check with a glass company (not the dealership) to see how much they will charge for replacing the windshield in your model...

As for costs, windshield replacement can be as cheap as $200 for Honda Civics which are a dime a dozen, but knowing me, if I did need a windshield replacement, I'll definitely be getting a Mercedes windshield and not a 3rd party one which will ballon the cost to right around $1000. Bah, I think I just talked some sense into myself and am not going to get the windshield warranty. I'll definitely confirm with my insurance what their coverage is as it is not part of comprehensive. (Interestingly enough, my insurance agent told me that I would be pleased to know that my insurance is going to go down by swapping from the C350 4MATIC to the C63 AMG haha...saved me 1/6 of the cost!!)
Thanks noodleman, I can't wait to get my hands on my C63, it's been a long time coming and a dream car come true ever since I picked up my C350 4MATIC.
Haha, yeah that is my C before I got the lux grille installed. Surprised they left those pics up, I thought they would have replaced them by now haha...

Just spoke with the dealer today and I'll be taking delivery of it early next week depending on the weather. AMG wheels for the winter tire package are backordered and they don't know when they will come in, so I will have to roll the dice and pray for warm weather this weekend and early next week until I can get her home. I don't think the stock tires are going to do anything for me if it cools down and freezes up. Already arranged to have the front end protected with XPEL paint protection, full front clip including bumper, full hood, full fenders, a-pillars, roof, and mirrors as well as tint on the rear windows if time permits.
Everyone please keep praying for warm weather in Calgary until Thursday, I need all the help I can get to get her home safe!!!
Thanks for the tip though!
Looks like the weather is getting better, just some light snow today then it gets into the positives on Monday with the hottest day on delivery day! I might just make it home in one piece!
Here's some pics (not the best, I took these on my phone just before I parked it in the garage and headed down to work):

so with that being said, I'd actually consider the extra insurance thing.......
but again, I am a bit different....
I choose not to fully insure my cars because 1) it won't be my fault if my car gets damaged, and 2) I hate paying all that money to car insurance companies, and 3)
I paid cash for my cars thus far and do not NEED to have full coverage....
Now that we have the car, I'm happy I ordered them.
Enjoy, Pickles.
The multi spoke 19's make the car. With the 18s the car is hideous.
Did they give you free winter tires and rims on the 18s??? Poooorrr car driving it in Calgary winter
so much rocks and salt... Im in Etown.. Enjoy, it looks great.

I like the dark gray calipers!
