Drove C63 vs W212 E63, thoughts?
So I drove a used 2010 E63 and a newer C63, without the development package. The C63 felt like it handled a bit better, was a little bit tighter than the E.
Obviously the C felt a bit more nimble and smaller, and both had good power. It may just be my impression, but for some reason I felt the E63 might have pulled a little stronger, in the mid-range around 30-40mph. At least that was my butt-dyno/seat of the pants feeling.
Is it just my impression? I know the C63 is faster on paper, but I thought that difference in claimed HP may make a bit of a difference. The E63 was used and broken in, and the C63 not really broken in as much - so that may have had an effect on it as well.
What do you guys think?

I know that P31 would make a decent difference.
So was my seat of the pants feeling correct? That 2010 E63 pulled a little harder than the C63? I thought it may have been just that the C63 probably wasn't broken in very long yet.

The C63 should drives tighter and have a better hugging seat, but if room is what you need, than I strongly suggest that you look at the E63 Estate/wagon instead.

I'm shocked that someone finds the c63 cramped. I'm 6' and can fit no problem. The bolstering is aggressive but in terms of leg/head room I don't have any problems.
As for interior space the E63 will be much roomier. I was blown away how big the e class trunk was when I had one for a rental. I could climb in the trunk no problem. That being said, I love how the c63's rear seats fold down and I can fit skis in very easily. My bike fit inside without any problems either.
+1 for e63 wagon, that'd be my #1 choice if they weren't so expensive/hard to find.

The c isn't necessarily cramped, but has a lot less room than the E. You can feel it when you get it, get out, and move around. The seats are great - but definitely a bit more constraining for casual driving. They are great for sporty driving, though - and got more comfortable after some time.

I am 6'2" and feel the C63 fits me fine with one exception, placement of my left foot. It just feels like I am always putting it in some odd position over where I'd comfortably put it in most other cars I drive.

I'm the same height and totally agree. There's really not a great spot.

As an owner of both a 2010 C63 and 2007 E63, both cars have different characteristics. The C63 is definitely tighter, stiffer and nimbler. Power to weight ratio is on par for both cars, meaning the C63 is lighter, has 50 HP less and 22 less torques.
The E63 is heavier, has more HP and torque, but they have almost identical 0-60 times. The C63 is much easier to throw into corners, with little fanfare. My E63 tends to show its girth more, not as easy to throw around, has a more plush ride, and is as equally fast as the C63. The C63 tends to be just a little small for 4 tall adults, if you like having knee room, that's not a issue in the E63. Same goes for trunk space.
I don't really have a favorite, although the E63 favors long road trips, and the C63 favors weekend excursions, blasting through the gears. The C63 exhaust note, is something to die for, you just can't get enough of it. I find the C63 seats to be tight. Uncomfortable until adjusted in the right position, not so in the E63.
In the C63 you have less worry about things breaking, as the car has less electronic gizmos as compared to my E63. The C63 also has a steel suspension, not the airmatic that has less then a stellar record when it comes to failures.
